Sorry if this has been answered somewhere already...

Is this:

Squids Rare Instruments Vol. 1 Electronic
http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=1993& refcode=xpmoreKVR

available as an esoundz bonus for the St2 library group buy? If so, I am going to go in the group buy once more.. If not, I'll get this pack anyway with a 50% discount..

You're killing me Squids. I just listened to the demos of the rare electronic instruments. I have to have this pack!!!

I love that the patch name is listed for each sound that is being demoed.

I much prefer this type of demo than the mixed instruments demo, where you buy the product and have to go hunting for the sounds you liked in the demo (not talking about SR in particular but in general).
Play it by ear

Could even be IMMEDIATELY after this one, by chance. So you might want to keep things "at the ready" until you see what's in store.

Edit - and yes, it does seem Squids has ALREADY pulled through with a tempting set of offers so let those be a great option for you too.
Hi Peter, this "something coming", does it involve this actual Sampletank group buy or is it another IK Multimedia product? I'm dying to know!
Something different, after the group buy is over.
ST3?
No.
Well that is just rude... but ok..

How long is this additional -50% gong to run? For the duration of the group buy, or longer?

R.A.W. (Rex, Apple Loops & Acidized Waves) Loop Collections

RAW Trip Hop Beats

Hey Squids (or anyone else who knows),

I am a Logic user and downloaded some of the free RAW loops on eSoundz.com. In the free loops from Trip Hop Beats and a couple of others, I noticed that there was very little metadata used to tag the Apple Loops (i.e., no instrument tags, style, keys, etc.). Am I missing something? It would be a huge selling point if I didn't need to open each loop in Apple Loops Utility and tag it myself (so it filters nicely when searching for loops in Logic).

Thanks for any clarification you can provide!

A sale event on ST3 the very next day after a sale on ST2 merchandise wouldn't work anyway. We'd all be a little short on cash and have no need for yet another player.

Probably not Studiophonik either, for basically the same reason. Not many people would jump into another playback engine immediately after loading up on ST2 sounds.

Amplitube might work, going along with the guitar and vintage keys sets. But it wouldn't do anything particularly useful for most of those Grooves packages or stuff like Symphony Strings, Piano Collection, or Cinematik.

The best fit might be something on the other ST family members (SampleMoog, SampleTron, Miroslav Philharmonik, Sonik Synth 2). Those products work well with the items we've just picked up.

It's just a guess, but I think that line makes the most sense.

...if only the initial run of iRig was fully manufactured and the app was approved. Well, who knows about that app but I doubt that will be in the App Store that soon so you can count that out. It isn't GrooveMaker-related either, don't worry. :)

But then we'd still be short on cash and not have need for yet another sample library ?

Must be a different product all together..

So, for just $49.95 you actually get TEN for the price of ONE (only on www.esoundz.com ):
Hi Squids
So how does this work if you bought multiple times from esoundz?

Only on the first time you buy is it a 10 for 1
Subsequent buys are 9 for 1. Still a very good deal, and reason enough to buy from ezoundz, but you ought to reward your customers who purchased multiple times from you (like me) :)

There's a big difference between another sample library and another sample playback engine.

If it's SampleMoog / SampleTron / etc, those libraries are all compatible with the XT players we've just bought. You don't even have to install the products if you don't want to - just copy the sounds right into your sound folders in XT.

Plus, they blend in well with the other products we've just bought. If you like the Cinematik and/or Symphony Strings and want more, Miroslav Philharmonik is it. If you got the SampleArp and SampleOB sets, SampleMoog is an obvious next step. And if you picked up the Squids Tron Exclusive Extras set as an esoundz bonus, that one was meant to go hand in hand with SampleTron.

Besides, we've had T-Racks and Amplitube related group buys in the last six or seven months. What's left? I kinda doubt Peter would be so coy about a sale on the ARC system.

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but I'm wondering about brass sounds in this collection. I'm looking for some good trumpet, trombone, flugel, bass trombone, euphonium, tuba, etc., sounds. Also some decent flute and sax samples. I need a quick reply because I'm thinking of joining the group buy, but if the brass is weak I wouldn't want it! Thanks.

Post

I haven't followed this closely and things seem to have changed a bit from when this group buy started so...

IIRC current owners of ST2 could get another expansion title (when buying from esoundz) instead of the ST engine + samples (since we don't need the plug-in, just the samples). Is this still true?

I was wondering if the esoundz ReTank loop collections are same packages as XpansionTank2 loops? If so I would be able get World Grooves loops as esoundz extra pack and choose something else (construction kits look very interesting ;) ) from XpansionTanks.

While I think that this sound set is an excellent value, brass and woodwind sounds are not very well represented. The relatively few of them that are present include some quite useable ones and some average ones, but if that is your main interest, you might be better served elsewhere (if you want to stay with IK, maybe Miroslav, or there are quality products from other manufacturers as well).

OTOH, for a very small amount of money, you can get those few brass and woodwind instruments plus a whole lot of other things, so I'm not going to tell you not to buy it. Since you're (I presume) a jazz musician like me, I'll mention that, although I don't use premade loops at all in composition or arranging, the jazz, funk, and motown loops are great for practicing feel. If you get the bass collection as well, you can make your own playalongs if you like, for instance....
