Is there any reason to install SampleTank 2XT if you already have SampleTank 2XL?

No. It's the same engine/software.ionized wrote:Is there any reason to install SampleTank 2XT if you already have SampleTank 2XL?

I know a lot of KVRians and esoundzites have those plug-ins already. I am sure those new to those plug-ins will appreciate your help and opinions though and you can pick up some epointz in the process I am sure!zedd wrote:
Looks like the next GB is for other ST powered instruments:

Since I have all of them, already, I will be skipping that one.
What we will have for some of you guys is another Sonic Reality group buy for another platform that is going to start some time this coming week. However, I won't get into the details of that in this thread out of respect to the subject. But just a hint and more info to come in another thread.

If you are purchasing from eSoundz - be sure to refer someone. You and your referral will earn ePointz which can be used to purchase downloadable items from esoundz.com and downloadablesoundz.com.

Just a note to let you all know that even though technically the group buy extension is over TODAY... we're adding our own extension to it just a little bit longer. You have up until the 14th of June, 5pm EST to join through
http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?Prod ... de=XT2KVR2
You even get TWO free additional libraries if you do anyway so... you might as well. But there IS a catch and that is that you MUST register the serial by June 15th on IK's site to get the deal. So that is pretty last minute. I advise purchasing at least by the 13th to give yourself a day. Or do it now! What are you waiting for? You DO realize that once this is over it goes back to $50 for ONE don't you? Haha. After 200+ pages I think maybe we forgot about that. GOOD LUCK! I hope you enjoy the sounds and get the most out of them. Some gems in there for sure.

My initial thoughts were as as below but I started working with OB starting tweaking the synth parameters and effects, slicer, compression etc just as you would with the stock synth and came up with some very interesting bits which have the OB at the core.
The vocal collection will get only limited use for me but again I started to stack and manipulate. The ease of manipulation with the Sampletank engine had me having a lot of fun with it.
Just my humble thoughts.

I'd say that of all the 24 packs I selected, the ones which thrilled me the least were the SampleOB Xpander and the Vocal Collection. Both of those had very little that I can imagine every using, and also very little that was different from what I had already. My favorite vocal presets I already had from a previous GB... or maybe from SS2.

The numbers have jumped to 6881 registrations, as of right now. So we should see 7000 before the day is over!
And as Squids mentioned, you can still buy in after the deadline.

You know I think you guys CAN put: esoundz name: ________(Your esoundz name) in your sig. It was just the explanation about the referral system in people's sigs that was crossing the line. I don't think it is a problem just putting esoundz name and your esoundz nick in your sig... you might get more epointz that way. I think some people have. Just a tip!

I'll have to take another look at the Electronic Drums. I kinda wrote it off after reading the description (emphasizing 808 and 909 sounds) and seeing that the full set was only 565 meg.
I really have no need for yet more 808 and 909 emulators or libraries, so I figured the rest of the set probably didn't have that much to offer.
Here's a pair of free downloads for anyone wanting even to experiment with more electronic drum sounds...
For our Mac friends:

And for Windows:

(following Squids' suggestion: esoundz ID = bhall1968)

For as much as you post helpful stuff for others and the fact that your esoundz nick isn't TORGO I think it is wise. Maybe you'll pick up some epointz. I was born in 1968 btw. Good year!torgo wrote:

Wow... yet another extension, or another chance to decide I really do want those remaining loops packages and another set from esoundz... Gotta hand it to you, Squids. You're certainly doing what you can to tempt me to keep shopping.
Like Zedd, I own the full line of ST-based instruments, so I'll be skipping this next IK group buy. I'll be interested to see what SR/esoundz has for its next offering.
I think the next IK product on my shopping list will be the ARC System, whenever it goes on sale again. But I suspect it won't be a part of a group buy type of deal anytime soon. I think the best I could hope for would be a return of "The Engineer's Toolkit" at a sale price.

Hi there. Just discovered that when running ST in Cubase (e 4), the samples are not converted (on the fly) to 48000Hz (all my projects are). Seems that samples stay at 44. When running standalone mode, i can change the prefs of ST to 48 then all is good. But not in cubase...
Anyone else having simillar problems or is it just me doing something wrong ?

Squids - while you're here, I was wondering about this "UFO Converter" thing with the Sonic Capsules series.
Can it convert other sounds from SampleTank format to other formats?

No it's actually not a converter but just a fancy installer. It only works with those 6 libraries and that's it.torgo wrote:Squids - while you're here, I was wondering about this "UFO Converter" thing with the Sonic Capsules series.

But if you want to go from SampleTank format to others, it isn't recommended, but there are some tools that can do it out there. How reliable they are is a toss up.
