You should have at LEAST until the 14th, as esoundz has the right to continue selling this deal until then.

I believe you get 30 days from registration to make your selections, and then I know you get 30 days after choosing to actually download the files, so you should be OK.

Do note that after 30 days, you have to pay a re-download fee (and it's not cheap) to download anything again, so get them downloaded and make a backup!

Thanks for the reply. I guess the question is now... Where is the demo content located? I can't seem to find it in the folders. Is it C:\Program Files (x86)\IK Multimedia\SampleTank 2.5\Presets? There's only .ikmp files in these folders.

Post

All SampleTank instruments will be in the same folder, so they should be sitting right next to wherever you installed all your Xpansion Tanks.

Note that I'm assuming the "demo content" you're referring to is actually instruments, ie patches in the Browser tree in the middle of the main SampleTank window. The "Presets" folder you mentioned above is actually where Combis are stored, which show up in the pop-up menu when you click the digital "Load" at the top of the screen. Those are in fact .ikmp files as you saw, and should be able to be deleted the same way.

(I can't be sure what you're referring to because I don't actually have this "demo content" on my system. I already had SampleTank installed, so I didn't install the actual SampleTank XT download; I guess it's in there?)

(P.S. Are you sure you want to delete any patches? You never know, that E Piano might be just the sound you need some day. You can easily re-file them into another directory if it would make it easier.)

I have the Instrument folder, and inside I have Cinematik Collection, Hip Hop Instruments, etc. Nothing else. Only the packs I've downloaded. Maybe they are inside. That sucks, though. If I could rearrange them, into one "demo crap" folder, I would. How do I? I don't see myself needing this "HQFreePiano," though. lol.

It makes browsing kinda junky. http://tinypic.com/r/qnk0tl/6

Hi All.

What an awesome group buy! This was a lot of fun!

Thanks to everyone for your eSoundz referrals!!!

BBC :wheee:

P.S. Let's make some music!!!

Yeah, p_game, if you can find your Instruments folder, you can delete all of those, or move them into a single Freebies folder as you suggest (which I think is a better idea).

If you don't know where it is, click "Prefs" inside SampleTank. The "Root" folder listed there is where you need to look. Re-arrange everything in that folder to your heart's content, and then click "Relist" in SampleTank. Good to go.

Here's a pic of my instrument folder. There's none of the freebie items in sight. http://tinypic.com/r/2s7hsex/6

Note: The SampleTank2XTSounds folder is the 1gb download, and not the demo content in question.

That's...... very strange.

It's doubly weird because the "Instruments" in that pic you posted earlier are apparently actually directories - they're marked with a hollow triangle, which is how folders get represented, and not the solid triangle used for a parent patch.

I assume you've tried hitting Relist just for fun?

Beyond that, I'm afraid I can't think of any reason those would be like that. I guess file a support ticket with IK; from what I hear they're pretty responsive.

p_game - a silly question: what do you see when you double click that "Cinematik Collection" folder to open it up? Are there actually any instrument files in that folder?

(If you have unzipped or installed the Cinematik Collection already, there should theoretically be 497 files totaling 1.07 gig in that folder.)

The 73 E Piano, Alto Sax, etc patches that you mentioned earlier that you said you want to delete should all be in the "SampleTank 2 XT Sounds" folder. They might be in various sub-folders - for example, the Alto Sax may be in a subfolder named "Winds", but that's the place to look for them.

If the Cinematik Collection sounds are all in the Cinematik Collection folder, the SampleArp Solo sounds are all in the SampleArp Solo folder, etc, then all of those "demo" sounds (and nothing else) should be in that SampleTank 2 XT Sounds folder.

You'd be able to delete that entire folder, have SampleTank relist the sounds, and be good to go.

Hey guys,

It was a fun group buy. It looks like the official final number was 6986, or at least that's what it was when I just looked. We'll have to do this again sometime!

And many thanks to drummer1 for the epointz!

EDIT: I fixed the number.

Make that 6986 ;)

Awesome amount, that.

And I think that's short-changing the count as well, since the counter froze before we reached midnight ET.

I'd say we still have a good shot at 7500+ by the time the esoundz extension is over.

did not peter infer several pages back that ik buyers would get something mind blowing after the deal? maybe the "and more" got me imagining this. however, "and more" disappeared after 8x1

He hinted that it would be a Good Thing to hit the 5000 target on one particular day.

We did, and the big announcement turned out to be the extension and the 8x1 level if we reached another 1000 users.

Post

Squids also hinted at something really good if we reached that target that day. (The "oh wow" kind of stuff mainly came from him.)

That turned out to be the extra 1 gig mystery set plus the coupon codes, which apparently got combined into one (XPANDMORE) code for convenience.

Put them together and we ended up getting two extra sets (the 8x1 through IK and the still-to-come Squids Mystery Set) plus the coupon code for reaching that 5000 mark on time.

Not too shabby. I'd say they did all right by us on that one.
