Would you say that Absynth 5 is significantly better than 4? I'm considering the current ridiculously cheap upgrade offer from NI, but I'm still not completely decided, because I don't need/want Guitar Rig 4, and Kontakt 4 isn't a high priority either.
Not significantly better, but the Mutator and Aetherizer effect for instance are pretty cool. If you are thinking about upgrading to 5 then now is the time to do it. It's well worth it for the current upgrade offer imo.

My top 2 synths are currently: Massive and Absynth 5 :D

Hang on, you want a moog modular V for €69?

Have you checked out the Bazille?

No ;) I think the ACE version of the future (Urs says about Ace XL twice a many things) will have another price range. Nobody expect a full modular system for 70€. IMHO ACE today is more the first step. Moog Modular V is only a example for the feature set.

Jepp, I played around with Bazille 0.3.

Add to that filter feedback and the supercloud as a filter. Is it worth it? You bet- however, if you make use of superclouds, feedback and the Aetherizer, the CPU hit can get high.

As a user of DCAM and ACE, a high cpu hit holds no terror for me, no sir.

Thanks for your answers, you've gotten me a bit closer to a decision. Sorry for momentarily derailing this breathtakingly interesting thread.

I forgot about XL, thinking Bazille was expanded Ace... Makes sense to wait if Ace is too limited for you.

I meant moog modular feature set, not full emulation! Unless made in synth edit! :P

Afaik ACE XL will be the successor of ACE with a lot more features/twice of the modules. I'm not really sure with Bazille... It seems a bit more as modular synth, the controls remembers me to Zebra, the included step sequencer... but all is a part of Berlin Modular...

You'll notice that you can have additional waveforms with ACE, using the Lfos as Osc, or even the mapping generator.

I've posted a few details on this in some threads on Urs forum, as well as in the manual joined with our ACE Steroids soundbank

LtZ

77 Exclusive Soundbanks for 23 synths, 8 Sound Designers, Hours of audio Demos. The Sound you miss might be there

I knew about the LFOs but the mapping generator?! :o Guess i should crack open the manual instead of randomly patching the cables. :hihi:
