its not emergency surgery, many people travel to different countries for different operations. if it was an emergency i imagine he would look more agitated.

There doesn't appear to be a consensus on whether the plural ends '-i', or '-uses', but there is a clear consensus that it's spelled with a y - 'platypus'!
