I guess the easy answer is that they are different, but I can say that Kontakt does a great job with REX loops. It stretches them well, if they are well edited. It's a great REX player.

For me, the strength of loops in ST is that it's really easy to mess with the loop. That why I say that they are different.

I love both for different reasons. I love ReTank because you can zone edit each slice... that is awesome! You can even use a different sample engine per slice and all sorts of cool stuff. I also like Loop Sync and I love the engines for playback like Stretch and PSTS. Plus the built-in effects on loops are great!

What I LOVE about Kontakt for loops is that it has the ability to play back REX files mapped across the keyboard. This is really nice for our Konstruction Paks and also GREAT for making it possible to play the Multitrack Rex Grooves we have in the Drum Masters 2 Series. I am really going to get deep into demonstrating the benefits of that during this group buy.

Thanks, Squids. You explained it much better! :D

I'm looking forward to that.

When is this new group buy supposed to launch? Still no announcement yet on the SR or esoundz web sites.

This new group buy might also tempt me to scoop up another RAW pack or two under the XPANDMORE code. How long is that code going to last?

Xpand More is going through the end of June. The new Group Buy is a BIG one. Spent the first part of the day making this happen: http://www.native-instruments.com/index ... aktplayer2

Then there's also something NEW called "Infinite Foundation" which is a bundle of sounds that will come with this Group Buy on TOP of your choices... all sorts of great stuff going on!

Also had to wrap up the Wild Card for the previous group buy... it was sounds galore today! Will be tomorrow too and maybe even Friday. But a lot of cool stuff!

Oh cool. 8)

Another Group Buy! I'll follow this one!

I'm also a big Kontakt fan! I just realized that Kontakt 4 has a fantastic collection of IRs for their Convolution Reverb. You can really nice up your sounds with those

Thanks for the replys Reverend Rhythm and Squids. From what you are saying then, both have their uses, so it is worthwhile to explore both!!
