I find it hard to believe that it was affecting your load times even if it wasn't included in the project.

The solution for cases where it *is* in you project, as Barbecutie pointed out, is to turn off Relist on startup. It will load much more quickly after you do that. Kind of surprising that you would choose to abandon ST altogether. I'd say you're shooting yourself in the foot.

Of course you can reinstall it. Unless you've gone to a different machine, the exact same numbers should work without a hitch.

Question for everyone who is into the loops/grooves thing (I'm new to it myself, so I'm kinda clueless) - how important are the MIDI slice maps?

Here's the situation... I could get the Down Tempo and Trip Hop XT packages (which have the slice maps but take up two Group Buy choices), or I could get the ReTank version (as an esoundz bonus choice or through the XPANDMORE code) and select two other Group Buy choices instead.

The ReTank version has all the loops and construction kits, and they're all in one collection - meaning I'd get to choose one extra set (or two, if I picked it up separately with the XPANDMORE code). But it doesn't have the MIDI slice maps.

So... MIDI slice maps for the Trip Hop/Down Tempo grooves, or at least one more extra Group Buy selection. What do y'all think?

Well yes you can , UNLESS you, for example, had to clone your C drive to a larger drive( ran out of space) and re-install it into your DAW. the ONLY VST that required re-authorization were all the IK stuff,I had sufficient authorizations ,just the hassle of the re-authorize..
And in fairness, the automated process involved just a few clicks for coping and pasting the new code ,, but I got a lot of IK stuff

AFA the user who passed because of the small GUI well ST3 will take care of that right???

Post

Yeah, but the context of my comment was to a user who had simply uninstalled it, and due to some C/R moral crusade, wondered if he were even allowed to reinstall it since it had C/R.

Thanks for your patience on the Wild Card bonus. I hope to have it available for everyone (esoundz joiners - still not too late btw you have until Monday http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?Prod ... de=XT2KVR3 ) on Monday or Tuesday at the absolute latest. I ended up putting more unreleased sounds than originally planned just because I know that would be appreciated. Hang tight!

8 x 1 at IK Multimedia

10 x 1 at esoundz.com ... since esoundz lets you choose 2 additional soundpacks that aren't included in the IKM GB.
I am totally new at esoundz.com. Sorry, but I was able to download only 1 additional pack, no two codes. :?

b-pole - the second one is the code for the Wild Card set that Squids is now finishing off. It will presumably be available for all of us relatively soon.

Another solution is to let our fine tech support staff have a crack at it, as there are many running in Reaper without this problem. If one opens a ticket and the result is unsatisfactory, then let me know. Thanks.

Not a problem, b-pole. We've all been wondering when this extra bonus set would be available.

It caused some more serious problems earlier on, as the esoundz web page said for months that it was one of our bonus choice options.

But now we have a little more clarity... it's still not here yet, but it's coming...

I think he didn't say it was affecting project load times; it was affecting Reaper's initial startup. That's quite possible, depending on what happens when Reaper skims through its plugins when it starts.

In my experience, the first project I load with SampleTank (I use Sonar) takes quite a long time. Also, the first time I load up SampleTank stand-alone it takes quite a long time. (Quite a long time == nearly a minute sometimes.) And I do have "Relist on Startup" disabled, believe me. It's clearly doing some sort of scan anyway, because my hard drive light stays constantly on during this delay. It is kind of frustrating.

youngwoerth wrote:Thanks for your help - finally I have to say: WOW! The "Electronic Drums" Pack is just great! Love to have every kit in original and (big!) produced version. Also the amount and variety is fabulous.

So here is my new vote:

Class A

Cinematik Collection
Piano Collection
Symphony Strings
World Instrument Collection
World Grooves
Electronic Drums

Class B

Vintage Keys Collection
Acoustic Guitar Collection
Electric Guitar Collection
Hip Hop Instruments
Down Tempo Electronica
Nashville Pop Grooves

Class C

SampleArp Solo
Hip Hop Grooves
Modern Tech Rap

Great to have the ability to import the midi files of the drum loops in your project - almost like Stylus RMX, just a bit more clicking. ;)

Youngwoerth - a question for you since you rated the Piano Collection 2 set in the top group. How do the "Acoustic Grand", "Granduation Day", and "Dyno My Road" patches compare to the others in that set?

Are they big improvements over the others, or would you be pretty much just as happy with the set even if those three sounds weren't included?

(Reason for asking: those are the three new parent samples that were added to make the new Piano Collection 2 set. Anyone owning the original Piano Collection already has everything else except for those. So could you give us a mini-review and share your opinion of those sounds? Thanks!)

Do you have a support ticket logged? If not, please do and also please send me the number if you have an existing or closed one that you feel wasn't satisfactory. Thanks!
