I would say to get the construction kits. I find the drum loops hard to use (and may never use them). Although I may just resample them and use them in Logic as AIF loops. The C Kits though are a blast to work with- and if you want to try them out for free- Sonic Reality/Esoundz has a bunch of free construction kits you can download. Once you try them out- you may want to grab all the C Kits for idea starters (or just playing around).

Okay it's done! Bravo everyone. Over 7,000 people joined on this one. Amazing! That's a record. You got a lot of great stuff for just $50 but I gotta say you did EARN it! Now, remember you MUST register the IK serial on IK's site by NO LATER THAN THE END OF THE DAY TOMORROW - JUNE 15th!!!! This is really important.

As for the redeem code for your extra from esoundz and the wild card - relax. It stays active and you can do that whenever you want. No worries. It's the IK serial registration you have to make sure you do by some time tomorrow okay? It'll be very hard to fix it if you don't do it by then.

Agreed! Great support, great value and fun. I think that Squids and by extension IK for what they have adopted, could write a doctoral thesis on what Squids has learned regarding this kind of on-line economy. He has innovated and refined many approachea. Of course , good product and value for the dollar are at the heart of this but the creativity in the marketing and delivering on the expectations is a great combination. Interesting when we see the imitators trying to jump on the group buy bandwagon. Those that are missing any one of the elements that make up an esoundz (or now IK ) group-buy experience don't seem to do as well with it. Just my thoughts of course. - Scotty

THIS is something I love about IK Multimedia (and Peter). I think it's the only company of which I'm aware that actually SOLICITS support inquiries after they have your money. (And I can tell you from experience that they respond to them in a timely and competent fashion -- even in the midst of a 7000 client group buy!)

For me, customer support is an important element in determining which companies I want to support with my business. In this respect, I have found IK Multimedia to be truly exceptional.

Don't bother installing any of the Wild Card content that is not Studiophonik related. I'm quite disappointed to report that it is *ALL* content that we already received in that previous GB. It took me about an hour of double-checking filenames and folder contents to determine that I already had everything included.

For anyone who was in the previous ReTank Group Buy of December 2008...

Don't bother installing any of the Wild Card content that is not Studiophonik related. I'm quite disappointed to report that it is *ALL* content that we already received in that previous GB. It took me about an hour of double-checking filenames and folder contents to determine that I already had everything included.

Sorry, but this Wild Card is at least half previously unreleased material. The ReTank Grooves I actually didn't think were in that past ReTank Group Buy but even if they were... how many people out of the thousands in this were actually in that group buy? So it is at least brand new to them since these grooves are not in the current ReTank titles or the Xpansion Tank loop libs.

I'm disappointed if anyone is disappointed with this 1+ gigabyte freebie. I thought it was pretty darn nice.

But can anyone really complain what they got for $50 in this? Come on now.



Anyway, if you were in the Studiophonik Group Buy then there are more Studiophonik sounds coming for free too.

Please help, ST is crashing!!!
I downloaded the "Wild Card" and installed it. (I have 2 drives (1 for program files C: and the second for samples D: ). (Everything worked fine prior to this wild card download.)
I put all my wild card samples in my D: drive and put the "Presets" in the C: drive (as instructed).
Now, ST is crashing everytime I try to run it as a stand alone.

(Of note, I noticed I had a duplicate "Intstruments" folder (from the original install a month ago) in the C: drive (identical to the one in my D: drive (sample drive) & I deleted it. I checked each file in each folder prior to deleting it, and being a duplicate.....I deleted it.)

Below are the errors I'm getting:

If you bought it 3 times you get 3 redeem codes to pick 3 of the 9th product. But the Wild Card is the tenth, not another choice of different libraries. We have to draw the line somewhere. Still, an extra library of your choice for the same $50 and an extra on top of an extra sure isn't bad! There were many thousands of people that just bought it from IK who didn't get any of these extras. You did good! The tank is half full. Enjoy.

I doubt the Wild Card sounds themselves have anything to do with this... although the main sounds themselves (apart from the "Put this in your presets folder content") need to be where the rest of your SampleTank sounds are and then hit "relist" on the GUI.

Then the 5 .ikmp patches in that "put these into your SampleTank Presets folder" need to put into that folder which should be within the (on a PC) C:Programs/IK Multimedia/SampleTank 2.5 and in there should be a SampleTank 2.5 Presets folder.

Should work! But if it doesn't I think you may have to contact IK tech support for specific help on that error or whatever else may be the problem.

Thanks Squids for the quick reply. I actually did exactly as you've stated above (the only exception was deleting the duplicate intruments folder).
Interestingly, a ST user on the Cakewalk forum had the same problem (ST crashed everytime he opened it up in Sonar).
