I would have paid good money for this set, so my sincere thanks goes to anyone involved in creating these and putting them online for free
Exactly! That's why I can't help myself bumping this thread now and then :)

They are very interesting... there are very nice synths and also a couple of funny drum machine (or what are they). Thanx.....

tried to "search" through the forums for an answer to this but failed:

i use the elektrostudio pack within cubase 5 (and studio 4 before) with no problems. i wanted to revisit the presonus studio one environment to check out the updated 1.5 version but S1 will report literally hundreds of messages regarding the instruments in the pack (something about .sem files missing??) and will list them on the internal vsti list (to my surprise, and doesn't even blacklist them) but trying to load one will cause the same problems. S1 v.1 did work with these plugs at first i recall, but later on developed the same faults.

i thought of SynthEdit being the culprit but this never happens with cubase.

i'm using C5 and S1 (v1.5) 32 bit both under Win7 64bit installed.

any suggestions?

t.

I believe the folder containing the .sem files (synthedit modules) needs to be in the same directory as the .dll
Maybe they have become separated? Is Studio One using the same vst folder as Cubase? etc

ok, strangely i see no ".sem" files anywhere (and that's how they worked until now). i searched with the hidden and system files on but there don't seem to be any.

S1 is using the same folder. would that be a problem (it's the same for all my plugs since cubase is my main DAW)

SEM files are usually inside a folder named like the synth.

/VST/synth.dll
/VST/synth/sem.SEM

At least here..

Sem files are inside the dll, and that little folder with the sems, that gets created automatically, if you move or delete it, it reappears without harm and function.

Now if you get errors saying there are missing sems, the only time I've seen that is when Antivirus software declares a postive hit and doesn't allow them to load. I don't know if any antivirus has problems with the Elektrostudio stuff, I don't have it on my harddrive.

It could very well be some other problem.

thanks for the input. what i downloaded with the pack was dlls and exes(which fire up minihost). since i remember S1 running them once upon a time, i'll see what happens if i replace the folder and access it from there (rather than the x86/program files folder)

nova could be on the right track here: win7 often requires permission to modify files located in "sensitive" places :)

UPDATE: nova was right; moved the dlls to an external drive and redirected DAWs to it and now everything works OK.

thanks for the tips ;)

when the embedded modules are extracted perhaps you can try to move
all content into your regular vst folder.

Vista sucks, I say avoid it if possible. It makes a lot of my old hardware and software useless. I couldn't even install a TWAIN driver to use my photo scanner. I had it on a laptop and uninstalled Vista, and installed Windows XP. Everything works as it should now.

Does this work with jbridge and cubase 5/64? My experience is that synthedit stuff doesnt play so nice with jbridge.
