Actually if there is one thing already dies , is ipad!!!
They already included multitasking on iphoneos, especially because of the ipad
The ipad , died again when Steve Jobs tried again and again to persuade us that we do not need flash and Html5 is the future.
I am willing to bet good money that in 2 years time , the so distant from a mac ipad will be essentialy .... a mac! Almost all limitations will be lifted.
Steve jobs started it as a smartphone-pda device, cause that was the available technology at the moment to them, but the average consumer want the ipad to turn to mac. People have been dreaming for a mac with a multitouch for quite some time now, ipad was nothing new, nothing unexpected, the big suprise was that it took apple so long to produce it.
Every effort that Apple takes now, is to make ipad, more and more like a mac.
iPad is not the death of the mac, its not even its rebirth , its just the next evolutionary step for the mac. It is not a MAC yet, but it will be very soon.

@ mcnoone: it seems like I wasn't the only one that failed to get your "joke".
However, it still seems possible to me that it may actually be a joke, since I'm sure that noone (
) can write what you did with a straight face.
Anyway, I hate it when things turn even a bit sour so here's a hug:

buy a hundred of them, different models, over a year or two. then try that one again.mcnoone wrote:Whatever, but I'll still be using my current one for years without 1 repair madeTristezaOrange wrote:But seriously, Macs suck ass. Stinky, haemorrhoid-laden ass. And you know it.

there's a whole load of those limitations which are there to manage revenue streams for Apple. they wont be lifted.kilon wrote:I am willing to bet good money that in 2 years time , the so distant from a mac ipad will be essentialy .... a mac! Almost all limitations will be lifted.

Lots of myths and unverified "facts" about Macs that are cited as being truth by overly enthusiastic owners of these products. Kind of like those who think the iPhone is the only smartphone worth owning...purely personal opinion but treated as something more.headquest wrote:It's posts like this that give Mac users a bad name. Somebody said a few pages back words to the effect that some Mac users used to act like complete Tw*ts in the past. Clearly the past tense wasn't necessary.
By the way, my DELL has lasted 4 years without any maintenance whatever, and I can still find no excuse to replace or upgrade it.
Industry statistics show that for reliability Apple came fourth, after Sony, Toshiba and ASUS. Go figure.
My Dell desktop is seven years old, but I have to admit to adding more memory and larger hard drives.

Lots of people think MS Word is a great program. I mean, they must, right? Seems like everyone uses it.
Or maybe it's like switching banks... far too complicated to switch from what is regarded as a standard, but in reality is probably the buggiest program I've ever used. ever. ymmv, but seriously, you're a dickheaded fucktard if you think that's a quality program that you should be using for anything past writing a snail mail letter to grandma.
Seeing as were just pissing and moaning now about what is essentially one opinion vs. another.
