So, I think I would on this occasion have to 'let it go' .... changing rules, or wording thereof mid-comp is a big 'no-no'.
Honest rugby referees are always in demand, (as are corruptible ones  ) but I think coding DSP in assembler would be an easier trade to learn, and
running an ongoing contest is hot on its heels :)

I hadn't noticed. By 'latching on' do you mean that the thing stops arpeggiating, and instead will hold onto a certain note?
Yeah,I didn't explain it well.
If I hold a 3 note chord with the arp on, and the note length is set to XL, when I lift off the keys, the last note it plays finishes the envelope, and then repeats periodically, as if I were still holding the chord, but only the last note plays.
Odd, and I can't find any envelope reason this is happening.

Cheers for the sticky Meffy ... and to Mac for organising :)

Post

Yeah, the sticky is great!

Ouroboros, can you insert 'note off' messages in your sequencer/editor, to shut the arpeggiation off at the spots where you release the keys?

Basic 64 definitely has its quirks.

As with the other, previous synths in the OSC, I'm betting you 'guys' will wrest something great out of it.

Post

Yea great with a sticky for this, hope it will continue for the coming comps as well. :)

Post

Meffy was extremely kind and said he just needs to be warned when it's time to change it - hurray for him! :)

Post

Could possibly the same be done for NA2SC? That looks set to be the comp of the year.. :)

Post

I'm sure that's poss V'ger, but right now, we need to keep our eye on the real ball .... One week left for submissions!!! :-o

... and as it stands right now, it looks like mrblitz is gonna take first prize, second prize, become the sole recipient of the e-album ... sorry, err .. e-single, and also have the priviledge of choosing the synth for OSC20! :hihi:

I'm trying to work on a track, hopefully I'll make it in time...

Me too, I'll probably start this evening. I'm a busy man. I don't want to be.

Where's Xenobioz? He is an admitted fan of SID music, but then he was moving house or something wasn't it?

Post

I'm working it- I am very close to using no fx (<-proud :) ) but There are a couple of channels the reaper EQ helps a lot on.

ooops, yes bug confirmed in FL 9.1 and Reaper 3.6
It does only happen with arp length XL, which is a gap-less arp. I guess the last arp note is hanging because it overlaps exactly with the note-off message. A fix would be to make the arp XL note length 99.5% instead of 100%

However, there's just one slightly-teensy-weensy-ickle problem. I don't have the synthedit project file anymore, it got lost in a toasted hard-drive failure, in the days before I did regular back-ups to portable drives. It should be on a DVD backup somewhere, but damned if I can find it in the usual places. One day it might turn up, if I move house or clear the attic, but for now I'm afraid you'll have to put up with this 'quirky feature' ;)

Post

pfft! Don't give it a second thought. Just glad to know I'm not going craxy. I was abusing the arp for some sounds that you generally don't shoot for on a c64 homage. Besides, I love quirky :)
