I've never used the Miroslav Philharmonik plugin (opting instead to use the sounds in SampleTank) - apparently there are different macro controls specific to the plugin?

And the same goes for SampleTron and SampleMoog?

I'd RTFM, but I can't find one at the moment. Is it worth having the plugins installed?

Do many of you do this? Am I missing out on something amazing??

You mean vs. just reading those sounds from SampleTank's GUI and putting all the sounds in your ST instruments folder? Well, first, you CAN use those same Macros when reading those sounds from SampleTank. So that'd not be the reason. The reasons to use the plug-ins/interfaces would be:

1. Because they look cool.

2. Because you can actually have them browse to separate places on different hard drive (something you can't do when using just one SampleTank GUI)

3. Just because.

It's cool you have the flexibility to use either though and the MAIN thing you're buying is really the sounds... which are mostly Sonic Reality samples apart from the XL sound set itself (and that is partially made of SR sounds too) and Miroslav Philharmonik (which was programmed by SR). So really it's all about the sounds! Get them for that and decide what you want to do with the GUI/Plug-ins after.

Oh cool, now I can say I've spoken to the legendary Dave Kerzner! Sorry for the late response.

Didn't you once mention some kind of tape warble thingy that's only in SampleTron?

And a filter that is unique to SampleMoog that is more Moog-like than the SampleTank one?

And in a Philharmonik video, didn't you say that the CSR was geared toward orchestral instruments?

Maybe I'm crazy, or maybe this stuff was integrated into subsequent builds of SampleTank. It's not really a big deal anyway; I'm just curious.

The engines are in sync and the same underneath. Only the programming and offsets would be different.

Macros doing warbling? Maybe but that would be from programming. It depends from patch to patch what we do with the macros in ST-based products. We don't always use them but in SampleTron we did a fair amount.

Rock. Thanks for the info.
