Exactly. Or install it anywhere you want, and then manually copy the RhinoCM dll into your VST folder.whyterabbyt wrote:install it to your VST folder then.mokgar wrote: It hasn't installed anything in my VST folder

It doesn't mess with the registry, does it? That's the kind of software I like.
Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

It only stores the path to its home directory in the registry, and removes it cleanly should you decide to uninstall it.
Alternatively there is a "portable" configuration (described in the Rhino manual) where you can replace all registry information with a file at the root of your drive.

Finally got teh mag and installed Rhino. Very nice synth so far! Thank you for making the CM version!
Will hafta dig deeper on Rhino. I still think a "upgrade from Rhino CM to full version at a discounted price" would be good idea, IMO. Might make teh "on the fence" ppl(myself included) more apt to get the full version, maybe?
Thanks again.

Actually, even if I wanted to do something like that, I have absolutely no way of knowing if someone has the RhinoCM version or not.I still think a "upgrade from Rhino CM to full version at a discounted price" would be good idea, IMO. I've just released an update for RhinoCM, btw.

IIRC, Sugar Bytes had a coupon code that came with the CM version of Artillery2. Maybe something like that?Big Tick wrote:Actually, even if I wanted to do something like that, I have absolutely no way of knowing if someone has the RhinoCM version or not.

The internet being what it is, it wouldn't be long until this code is leaked.IIRC, Sugar Bytes had a coupon code that came with the CM version of Artillery2. Maybe something like that?

Well, 'twas worth a shot I guess. Been so spoiled by all the Group buys, "no brainer" deals and other deep discounted sales that are goin' on around KVR thought I might be able to milk one outta ya for Rhino as well.
Thanks

Actually I think it's more a marketing strategy than anything else: raise your prices by 20%, and offer coupons with 20% rebate. Then you don't mind the coupons being leaked, and somehow it makes people happy. I should look into this, although it definitely doesn't come naturally to me.

I'm sure that does happen, but I was referring to the honest price slashes. i.e. UA1 for $20 (normally $120)Big Tick wrote:Actually I think it's more a marketing strategy than anything else: raise your prices by 20%, and offer coupons with 20% rebate. Um, no.... Honestly is a rare trait. If you have it (as a trait) hold it above anything else. Glad to hear dishonesty goes against your nature!Big Tick wrote: I should look into this, although it definitely doesn't come naturally to me.

Just for info: RhinoCM is on the cm154 (August 2010) issue too, as part of the cmStudio.
