Andy, I read on GS, that you've added snap mode to controls, may it be possible to make it active only on shift+click, or control+click.
I believe it is nice and useful feature, but on some occasions it causes unexpected changes of controls if you're not too precise with your mouse.

Hi Andy...speaking of GS.com, that reminds me. Regarding the "antialiasing" thread, what's the chance we'll see some oversampling in The Glue?

Yes, you're right. How about I make it double click on a ring on the outside to snap to the notches, and double click on the middle to enter a text value?meloco_go wrote:Andy, I read on GS, that you've added snap mode to controls, may it be possible to make it active only on shift+click, or control+click.

Yes, I will add an oversampling option to The Glue at the same time as I do my next product. My next product will require oversampling, so I'll add it to The Glue as well. You should only over need x2 if you are running at 44.1k or 48k since The Glue is very low with aliasing already, but it will improve the sound, especially on hi hats and other audio with high frequencies. Please not that this will more than double the cpu usage of The Glue, since I will be using very high quality linear phase up and down sampling filters.JeffSanders wrote:Hi Andy...speaking of GS.com, that reminds me. Great. No problem. New times (and faster computers) are coming.andy_cytomic wrote:Please not that this will more than double the cpu usage of The Glue, since I will be using very high quality linear phase up and down sampling filters.

Great news, Andy!! The added cpu is well worth it. On a lead vocal, the more upsampling used (expecially noticable on X8 on Voxengo plugs or 64X Anti-aliasing mode in Reacomp), the more of that nice air comes through on a vocal. Almost like adding a whisper track and mixing it in low. Without any added eq.

Does oversampling incur latency, or just CPU usage?

That would be great!andy_cytomic wrote:Yes, you're right. Ohhh I do enjoy my current 0 sample latency.meloco_go wrote:It would add latency as Andy said it is linear-phase.timothyallan wrote:Does oversampling incur latency, or just CPU usage?

You'd have to pick your poison)))timothyallan wrote:Ohhh I do enjoy my current 0 sample latency.meloco_go wrote:It would add latency as Andy said it is linear-phase.timothyallan wrote:Does oversampling incur latency, or just CPU usage?
Or use 88.2 or 96 right off the bat

All linear phase oversampling / low pass filtering incurs latency. This includes your soundcard inputs and outputs as well, so you are in a similar situation to sending the audio out of your computer to get processed by analog gear, then back in again - although when you do it all internally you bypass the converters, and don't have an extra buffer of latency added by the soundcard driver.timothyallan wrote:Does oversampling incur latency, or just CPU usage?

Yep, spot on. If you don't want around 1 mS latency, but you want higher quality then you need to run your whole project at a higher sample rate. If you have tracks at 44.1 that you need to resample (upsample), you are doing exactly the same type of filtering that The Glue will be doing but pre-calculated and saved to file. This resampling will also add latency, so watch out for this, you may possibly need to nudge all your tracks back a bit to correct for it.meloco_go wrote:You'd have to pick your poison)))timothyallan wrote:Ohhh I do enjoy my current 0 sample latency.meloco_go wrote:It would add latency as Andy said it is linear-phase.timothyallan wrote:Does oversampling incur latency, or just CPU usage?

In my humble opinion that sounds like a good solution to the problem Andy.andy_cytomic wrote:Yes, you're right.
