Great stuff mac, cheers for the submission.
Struggling for time to progress with my track ... the first edition of the new online 'newspaper' is due out tomorrow .. and to be honest, I had no idea what I was letting myself in for when I agreed to be co-editor
I'll get it finished, but the washing is gonna go have to go mouldy in the machine, and the kids and cats are gonna have to decide who eats who! :-o

I suggest you have the cats eat the kids - cats have a much shorter lifespan and are way cheaper - just food cans, no school, cars, clothes, friends, vacations, cell phones, etc. From a strictly financial point of view, there's no doubt at all which is the best choice.

It's the cosmic connection that's developing among those who take part in the OSC's - in a short while we'll all be like a Borg community...

Hey folks, I have had to change the wording/terms of the prize donations .. and will need to further change same.

As many of you will know, over the last few months various opportunities, responsibilities and activities have kinda been 'jumping out in front of me' and limiting my ability to stay on top of things re. OSC.

The result of this is that two of our prize contributors have felt the need to give me a friendly tap on the shoulder to alert me to the fact I have unwittingly misrepresented their pledges of support.

This has resulted from flawed assumptions on my part, and a drop in the level of communication between myself and the prize donators ... and amounts to amounts to a lack of attention to maintaining the valued relationship between all parts of the OSC community.

Dont worry, I'm not being morose about the situation, nor beating myself up ... simply being honest.

I am pleased to announce though that the donators concerned are happy to continue their support of OSC under the terms they have pledged, but which I should have understood and conveyed more efficiently, and I thank them for providing clarification so that they can indeed continue to offer us their generous support.

I will ensure that I contact all donators before the launch of the next OSC and seek confirmation of their support in order to avoid any further misunderstanding.

I think nobody understood this but me, as I'm the one who unintentionally spilled the beans (at least with one donor) :( :( Sorry if this caused any trouble to you, Tattie :(

Post

No Mac, you have not caused me any trouble. I have been aware for some time that I needed to communicate more with the prize donators, but I have not got around to doing anything about it, so there was bound to be confusion somewhere along the line.

Look forward to your submission euroboros :)

Got a bit of work done on mine last night :)

Post

Meh... I may have problems with finishing mine on time. I've involved lately in some other things and at the moment my submission lays only on my mobile waiting to be transferred to PC, modified, mixed, etc... I would have more chance if the deadline could be extended by 2 or 3 days. But now I'm not sure if I can make it :( Sorry folks...

tattie:
Could you tell me how many hours are left since this post was made?

dwsel, I'm glad you brought up the idea of extending ... I was going to bring it up, but thought this would be a bit self serving.

I didn't take things like the World Cup into consideration when I set the timescale, nor did I envisage the amount of time and energy that would be taken up by other activities ... so if there's more support for the idea of an extension to the closing date, loathe as I am to going back on set rules, I would happily extend ... for the good of the comp if the submission level is anything to go by.

Any thoughts? In any case I'm gonna hammer on with my track, and quite prepared to submit it unfinished if needs be.

Yes please extend it , I too got distracted by the soccer :( , and what I have now is not yet fit for consumption... :help: a few more days would be nice :) or else I could call it "Unfinished Symphony" .... and post as is :hihi:

tattiemannie, an extension sounds like a good idea.

Basic 64 is interesting because it does the 'chiptune' stuff well, but it's more than that; Basic 64 can do 'non-chiptune' sounds too.

With DLM giving out a free plug-in, hopefully we can get as many entries as possible, in order to showcase Basic 64.

It sounds like an extension will give us more entries; so - if you're taking votes - my vote is 'yes.'

Post

Yes, more days - also, it's summer and it's a lot easier to get distracted...
