Cool stuff. Great production with sound design meeting clever feedback and whammy bar work. How did you get that wild-yet-controlled, distorted-yet-crisp guitar tone? Well done

Thanks! That tone is amped and then, it's reamped. There's a lot to describe on the former; the latter is Amplitube 2 Jimi Hendrix; I used Vienna Suite's exciter and EQ (very precise and transparent), and I probably used TRackS Fairchild 670 emu to round it off. (I'm trying to excite resonances up to where it gets 'cold' above 6k, and then shelve.) Glad you like the tone, I did massage it a bit.

the guitar has that super-cool honkin' and squeakin' sound you get on some albert ayler or peter brotzmann records. i don't think i've ever heard the guitar quite achieve that effect before. liked the dungeon background sounds as well, evocative of something very eerie in a profound sorta way.

That's just so full of awesome I can hardly stand it. Nice foley-esque action and atmosphere... do I smell Absynth? The guitar sends shivers up my spine... tbh I heard it going in slightly different, but in the end probably more cliché directions, but no complaints... I could go for lots more of this stuff.

There were 8 tracks I think of Absynth - almost three years ago. Kind of old school, primitive processing on that. Justin3am maximized that output for me; there was little else but this drone object...
Then I got some VSL libraries from their 'Elements' series. But it lacked foreground really.

One day the hair got up my ass to just scream on the thing; I'd hired that cat for that soprano sax lead, who kicked my ass, I had to blow some chunx.

Years ago, I had two housemates and we free-improved all the time; one was a horn player whose whole thing was multiphonics. Kind of a naive player, but he knew his horn physically, in fact was a physics major. I studied that guy and learned one or two things about sound. I was way more out there at the time on my own instrument than I became. This was kind of a return to that area for me.

Nebulous? My first impression of the whole, is that film producers needing an edge
for scary scenes, would drool on their keyboards while typing you an email. Movie
scores need tension, but without cliche'. Amplitube and Absynth put to good use
outside the box!

Yes, & thank you Justin. I did get some sound to move around. Vienna Suite has a power panner and you can totally place things, focus things and get some action with 'sum and differences'.

For years I strenously went about eschewing cliche as much as humanly possible. Now I like to do 'em and make them *less recognizable*
