Try Fokke van Saane's web site for some decent forest IRs:

They are created on a Mac though and supplied in .SIT format for Altiverb, so you'll probably have some converting to do

Yes, I'd found them and given up on the conversions!

I did find one other site - Impulse record http://www.impulserecord.com/impulserecord_007.htm that looks good. The exterior set is 50 bucks... I'd like to try one or two before buying ideally, but has anyone else used them?

I've just created some synthetic algorithmic IRs (not sampled from gears but computed), they can be downloaded from www.sknote.it homepage.

I'd love to get feedback on the quality...

There are hundreds of beautifully recorded IR's for all your needs. Stuff like:
Quantec
Lexicon
PCM 70
H5000
H3000
Vss3 (these sound gorgeous!)

These IR's sound great. It's like mixing air into your tracks. Seriously, they kick ass, and a lot of time and care was put into making them available to the public.

BTW, it's all Donationware, and you can pay what you wish, so there's no excuse to give nothing. If you use them, send 50 cents, or a dollar, whatever you can so he can feel good about releasing more IR's to the public.

BTW, I'm not affiliated with the site, and yes I did send him $.

Today I have released a new and FREE IR library created with the Bricasti M7 reverb unit. It is a very complete, accurate and pristine set of impulse responses. 134 presets, all in True Stereo and Mono-to-Stereo, and several formats.

Would it be possible to do an Impulse Response for an entire amp (preamp and all) instead of just a speaker or cabinet? For example, an IR of a Marshall head and cabinet, for modeling purposes.

There are some nice IRs for the 960L at Practical Sampling

The best Impulse Response [IR] sites
