Wet (Aether 1.5 only):

Preset:

Dry source will remain private as I am using it for a Galbanum sample-library product...

the sleeper has awakened... :)

(yes, I like David Lynch's version... I challenge the new remake to do a better job in equal time or less... or more for that matter...) :D

for those wondering... this is not the only trick aether is good at... but damn these kind of things sure are fun to play around with!

For all of its "flaws" (perceived mostly by ignoramuses who don't know anything about the story and want to be led by the hand across Arrakis), the "Alan Smithee" cough-cough version by David Lynch is a fantastic epic movie. Somewhere between this version and the truncated-yet-thrilling montage that found its way into theatres (and box-office infamy) lies a fairly-ideal specimen.

As for the remake, I wouldn't hold out too much hope for any improvement; but they could definitely take their time and pull a LOTR multi-movie series out of it -- which would also keep the lantern lit for adaptations of the subsequent novels. :D

I love these kinds of sounds where the source material melts into and floats away into the verb and gets transformed into something else!

All statistics and charts aside, you guys have really tapped into something magical with this verb (in my humble opinion!).

Okay, I think it's seriously time to start considering retiring the PCM!!!
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

We'll that'd be interesting... I could personally use some hand holding for the 5th and 6th book. I read them all when I was a teenager, and man do 5 and 6 really get weird... :help:

Eno's "Prophecy Theme" is a masterpiece too of course!

And I like the Toto score too...

So it rains in the end... so what, get over it... :x I call that creative freedom... :D

Daily does of vitamins:

Dry:

Wet:

http://www.2caudio.com/products/aether/ ... her150.wav

Preset:

http://www.2caudio.com/products/aether/ ... _Plate.2ca

Notes:

1) Cascade here is at 100% to feed ERs into LRs. This makes LRs extra dense during buildup and adds some coloration, which is good for plate emulation... be careful though as it can create too much color easily with some settings...)

2) Time setting is huge, but High Ratio is min and High X is pretty low, so High Freqs decay 20 times faster than lows here... This is something I probably should have put in the manual: when LR Time is longer, the Decay ratio differences can be more drastic. When LR time is shorter, usually the decay ratios should be less drastic... usually. There are always exceptions...

(sorry if this is a little out of context...I haven't read the whole thread)

Answering the OP...six months later, who wrote:

<<is it worth 250$? Has it replaced all your other reverb plugs? Has it become your go-to reverb, or does it gather dust in your plugin folder?>>

Yes,after a month it has become my go-to...it's replaced all other reverb plugs except a convo that I still use because I know the settings well and have a few patches I can rely on without auditioning. ((Edit: I've stuck with my convolution reverb for room sounds, even after comparing with Aether. Note, however, that I don't have the Aether preset expansion packs, so I haven't compared those.))

Although the Aether interface is detailed, it's been pretty easy to learn and get going quickly, so it's a great tool, and easy to migrate to it.

It sounds great, really goes into new territory with very long reverb settings, and the control set is brilliant. I love the ability to lock a particular control while changing patches! That saves SO MUCH TIME.
