Noise is a by-product of energy released in an environment where vibrations can exist,
and sound waves can travel and reflect.

Humans and animals can produce vibrations both voluntary and involuntary (organic by-products and that sort) and can utilize noise 'musically', to attract fans or mates, or for other purposes, military, industrial, commercial, territorial etc.

So music as an entity does not exist, per se, but the word itself can be useful to classify and describe some of the sounds made by analog creatures, and some natural occurrences. These are of course, warmer in nature than muzak, which is purely digital, colder and harsh, consisting only of 0 and 1 repeated in odd combinations within stark host environments, which are alien to human and animal audio receptors.

Not Percy, no -- Barry.

For did not Manilow write: "I am music, and I write the songs"?

So there's the difference. Barry Manilow is music. Noise is that which is not Barry Manilow.

I thought Barry was a sonic by-product of producers wearing mint-green
leisure suits? :) Maybe I saw the wrong shade of green...
(producers out here now wear wife-beaters and tatts, mint green is frowned upon)

Yeah, and even though you wrote of a different song....."like a good neighbor, state farm is there" is now ringing in my head :x

Maybe another definition could be that it's music if you get payed for it... :hihi:

Just close your eyes and listen.

Noise:

Just close your eyes (for God's sake!)

But make no mistake: I looooooooooooooooooooooove both! However, A pro producer might be able to make the noise less noisy but that might undermine the whole point, I guess! :D

Now I finally found out, what "typisch deutsch" is :D. (And I don't mean this as an insult or something like that. It's just that this, if spoken by someone from any country, is typical german to me. Which might not be so terribly interesting to the rest of the world population. I never thought something like this even existed^^.
hi Schorsch,

seems, you read only books that are written by german eggheads. :hihi: ... and don't forget: this was a reply to a reply.
:P

cheers and ¡Viva España!

If only it were that simple. :)
We escape the trap of our own subjectivity by
perceiving neither black nor white but shades of grey
