I'm still kind of interested in UVI / Plugsound Pro. It's only about $100, the demos sound good and it looks like it has ethnic sounds too unlike HS, it's just that I've heard so many bad things about the actual plugin and the support. HS looks like it's most like a true workstation, just missing some sounds and we still really haven't heard the true sound quality apparently so I'm not really sure what I should go with.

Don't want to disrupt the original thread but be aware that you can freely test UVI Workstation with its demo soundbank to make up your mind.
We had quite a number of issues with the original plugsound pro player but since, the code has been entirely rewritten and is now rock solid.

About that, Plugsound Pro is good, but the acoustic sounds lack of details, they're "thin" sounding.

That said, I use it in my productions and I'm happy with what I'm able to do with it.

But, I would not be against a possible massive Plugsound Pro 2 upgrade

I am very afraid of the sound... like many others I have heard the demos and this video and the sound doesn't impress me at all. I keep hoping it is the bitrate of the audio in the demos.

i doubt that, check videos about omnisphere, garritan, east west and so on. youtube isnt so bad qualitywise and you can already make a first impression, i too think the video shows not 2010 material what i expected...

, i would normally go to my local music shop again for more than 30 minutes and test it more, but im full of work atm.

That video isn't new, it's the amalgamation of the videos available on the Steiny site. My post over at Cubase.net hasn't been replied to, either. I'm still waiting for a definitive answer.

So..... come on, Steinberg! There are at least 10 potential sales on this thread alone! Why aren't you all over the forums, answering questions, generating excitement? Why aren't you promoting your new product? Where are the well placed beta testers, backing your information up?

The weeks immediately after any new product release are your golden sales opportunities, and any business [not just music] knows that this is the moment to hit the marketplace hard; divert the bulk of your advertising campaign into those few weeks and generate the product placement you need. Establishment, establishment, establishment.

I don't know if Spectrum or Squids have attended business courses or consulted advertising agencies, but they sure could teach Steinberg a thing or two on how to deliver on sales technique, it seems....
