As Dave came on and spoke about his involvement on the HS project, I'd also like to hear from other sound designers, who also we're involved with it.More specifically the ones who did the acoustical instruments,as that seems to be one of the huge question marks right now..

Also if your a european kvr member and already bought it,had time to go through the patches, and can offer your opinions on them,or offer a small audio demo.. You r our best option actually.Steinberg hasn't offered anymore audio demo's yet,and despite being one who doesn't always just go for the audio demo, it does help.

Here is another video, created by one of the sound designers:

It is german but he plays a some sounds and shows most of the pages.

Thanks for posting that link, but wow, that was like 20 minutes of jibberish and 5 different sounds. :dog:

That wasn't my point. I was just saying that people want to hear what Halion Sonic sounds like. That was 20 minutes of talking and 5 sounds. English is most of the world though.

ok.. actually I dont think it is.....but it is the only language I speak... Thank God America is the super power, but I doubt it is the 'most spoken language'...

but yeah I see your point, my apologies....I am assuming if it was in english you would have had the same reaction.

actually I prefer this video than others.....soundwise. In that I get to hear more of it....however I am still unimpressed with the sound......pity I was looking for a motif vsti...

Benutzername,
Thanks for the post 8) The patch load time, seems alot slower then I would think it would load.I wonder what hd's the user had? Or if this is just as slow as it will be.. Not impressed so far as the load times.

Compared to HS2 this isn't in the same league, so if a patch loads this slow, what would say 6 patches load like in a multi... ??

I agree the sounds aren't really cutting through, and don't sound as defined as I thought they would be. I'm not sure if it's the conversion of the audio or what..Sometimes that can mask "would be great quality", I'm also starting to get frustrated now with what appears to be a lack of quality demo's.I was fine before..At first it wasn't bothering me, but the more I don't know, the more I want to know.. :D :D

Re: terrible audio demos -

Everyone who expected Steinberg to release a great-sounding VST to really compete with Yamaha's hardware workstation line, please raise your hand.
this thread is relevant to my interests

One major culprit for me is that it can not import wavs into the synth or sampling engine. This limits sound design to variations of the factory content. While there is a lot of material included the sample you will need will most likely be exact the one that is missing.

The lack of sample import was OK for a workstation in 1999 but today this should be standard if a plugin calls itself "Premier VST Workstation". But maybe this limitation is a requirement to keep the monopoly when selling additional sound banks.

This thread is getting larger by the day, it would appear Steinberg would send a rep in here by now,to link us to some better quality audio demo's.. I mean KVR is gonna be a large part of their market believe it or not 8) ....I'm gonna link this to their forum,to see if we can get them intertwining..

Hopefully we can get folks to to get the idea here, to share some of their thoughts and a bit of bandwith for a quality demo or two..

Oh Frank , how's that screencast coming bud? 8)
