Aaaahh.. there it is!
Great! Tried out the sansamp and fell instantly in love. :)
I know we customers tend to say this everytime something new hits the market, but I really feel satisfied with my bass signal for the first time since I started recording.
As soon as the purchase option appears, it's bought.
Though I gotta say.. I liked the old demo mode more. 30 days or something instead of the occasional silence. ;) But I don't plan to run it that way for long anyway.

I've put some special filtering to prevent that, so you can run it safely.
But of course, I'd stringly advise you to lock your door just in case.

Yes, me too, but Long John Silver and his geeky parrot would rip it off over the night, so I just had to stop it.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks ! we devlopers never get bored hearing such things, don't worry ;)

I was playing around with Nu-Tron earlier tonight. When I rolled off some volume on my guitar, the response was different than at full volume. What do you consider to be the optimal peak signal for the plugin?

Post

I guess it is up to you. Har to tell, since different setting of the other parameters might make you will to change the input gain depending on what kind of sound you're after...
(BTW, I have removed the temporary links, so now you can download them directly on mokafix.com)

Excellent effects!
I like the fact of wahs climbing into the lineup.

Are there also plans to widen the selection of plugins to other types of effects - delays etc?

Also... With all these nice stomp boxes, I could see a fine plugin connecting them all into a virtual pedalboard (optional hardwood flooring :)).

Any plans in that direction?

PS. have to test to choose the favourites - the fuzz pedals are difficult to choose in between...

Cheers,

I stumbled on this thread through a google search.

Did I read something about a Harmonic Percolator?

Add me to the list of people who would definitely purchase one.

Post

A pedalboard is the kind of things that are very inconvenient to build with synthedit.

I took a look at the harmonic percolator. It looks a bit like a fuzzface, but with some hi pass inside the gain stage and a diode stage in the end.
Transistors are really wild. they induce lots of bias.
I just watched that where Steve Albini talks about this pedal, and it definitely matches my own observations of transistor based "fuzz" stages.
How does that pedal differ soundwise from a fuzzface to you?

Post

^I've never actually used either pedals, and have also seen that Albini Gearwire vid. My understanding from his explanation is that only one side of the waveform is actually distorted so you can get a really crunchy sound that's still clean.

The schematics for the Harmonic Percolator are easily found online (let me know if you need assistance).

As for how they differ, I would suggest listening to a Shellac album and let me know if you still think that tone can be replicated with a Fuzzface (not that anyone could replicate Steve's tone, even with the same gear.)

Shellac - Prayer To God (good example of the guitar tone by itself, though YouTube's sound is pretty dodgy)

Shellac - Steve deals with a heckler (My Black Ass)

I'm curious if there will be YouTube videos for the new stompbox creations as well... Would blend in with the other video demos IMO.
