Nah hibidy not at all IMO, if that is what you want to do then go for it despite what anyone may say. Life ain't worth living unless you enjoy it.
Age regardless man \M/^"^\M/

It would be more weird/make no sense to me if a person were to not do what would make them happy, have fun, Enjoy life & definately music :)

If you want to plug your guitar directly into your soundcard it needs a hi-z input.

Or you could plug your guitar into a pre-amp then into your soundcard.

I just use a cheap presonus inspire, which is pretty much a baseline card but it has 2 hi-z inputs.

I have used them, but my amp-head has a xlr Direct out so i use that.

This is a very handy little box to have lying around, not a DI box but IMO a great problem solver like an essential little kit bag item:

It works without wirless systems btw also

What guitar to choose?
Tokai Sg from 1985
Fender Stratocaster plus
fender rodworn Stratocaster from Mexico

What kind of music do I play? Well i little of everything but country.
I already have sevreal guitars, so am I only lusting after more guitars?

Post

I meant not country!

Post

Probably lusting mate, but if one sounds different than any in your collection already then that = justifiable in my book of GAS ;)
Tokai SG i'd take FWIW

Btw what do you think is better for those western, country sounds? A Tele or a Strat? :P
Just let its Sound do the talking: http://www.synthmaster.com/

Sorry, folks, I don't think so.
You're joking, but a typical SG is about the last guitar I'd take to a country gig as it's all about mids, all mahogany, short scale, humbuckers - not really.
And it'll fall to pieces at the first bar fight. :help:
That's where 7enders shine !
Strats and Teles will both work, my preference would be a 3 pickup Tele, here's one of mine :
Image
Fitted with a MegaSwitch it has the 3 traditional Tele sounds plus the 2 Strat inbetween sounds, Fender Noiseless PUs, lots of twang due to the brass barrel bridge, compound radius neck for easy bending ...
Ymmv, something along these lines absolutely nails country, but it's picky about the picking ! :P
One of the best bang-for-the-buck guitars on the planet (arguably) is this 7ender Deluxe Nashville Power Tele, I modded mine with the same PUs as the orange one, and it offers a fine Fishman piezo PU on top with stereo output - piezo to the PA, magnetics to the amp, howdy partner ! 8)
Only drawback is you can't change the ugly bridge because of the piezos ...

Of course i am kidding mate, i know little about 7enders and know that you my friend know quite alot. So i drop a jest and know you put the record straight :)

Chicken'pickin'slidin'rough'neck'hillbilly'hellraisin'no'good ;) :P

Roadhouse (great film about bar trouble! P.Swayze R.I.P and Jeff Healey for that matter)

Piezo's aswell that will be bright! :-O Suspose your packing in a healthy dose of 'over easy'-type compression on their aslo man? to even the pluck and the twang out then klon into heartbreaker for a kick?

Just a few presumptions there mind and if different then enlighten me my friend

No, no, for G's sake ! :-o
The piezo is for the occasional acoustic part you inevitably have to play, strung with 10 to 52's it really sounds decent over the PA.
Certainly not for a diehard acoustic player, but good enough for me.
Saves you from carrying a real acoustic (I'm an electric player at heart ) and you don't have to change guitars on stage - after a few JDs country singers are not really compatible with setlists anymore :D so you mostly have a split second to find out what song's next ...
Lol,
cheers to the folks with the funny hats, love your music !

Edit : And with amps you could choose anything having a great sparkly clean and a very light crunch, the Heartbreaker would be great, but my weapon of choice is the Classic 50 212, perfect for these jobs. A good compressor in front, volume pedal and delay in the loop - that's all I need for country.
The Klon would work fine at higher stage volume, but lately I prefer the Xotic BB+ with the Peavey, though for country I rarely need an extra OD, pure luxury.
Haven't forgotten about the clips btw, but @ 38 degrees atm guitar playing with closed windows is not too funny, so please be patient.

Post

Ok now that makes alot more sense/the piezo thing another :dog: moment
As for clips as i said mate there is no hurry and patience is my middle name.
Peavey's Delta Blues 1x15" Combo out of that classic range is very nice/i like that one and it was one of the reason i started using 1x15/bass amps for guitar purposes actually. I may get me one of them delta blues combo's one day for the clean sound which i really like. Just have to start playing alot more klean stuff to warrant it :hihi: but again like most of stuff its a studio asset and something i like. I have my eyes on the used market ;)

Cheers and bah i don't like hot weather myself. I either have to put factor 70 or similar cream on which fells horrible and looks like i am seriously anemic which i am pale enough already! Vampire like or 'fair skinned' to put it politely
