Silent Way & Cubase 5.5 on Win - Works but MIDI?

I've tested Silent Way on Cubase 5.5 on Windows Vista w/ an Alesis IO26- it definitely sends correct calibration to a mono output.

I can't seem to figure out how to set up a MIDI track that routes MIDI to the Silent Way plugin though.

The problem is that Cubase 5.5 "instrument tracks" are always stereo by default- and Silent Way requires a mono track. Any ideas for a workaround?

How does on set up the channels to work correctly so that you have MIDI->SilentWay->Audio?

Here is what I'm talking about:

Doesn't an Instrument Track accept MIDI-in ? So you'd record your midi on the Instrument track which Silent Way was actually on ?

This is the same thread as http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19131, right?

It seems to be being solved over there.
