...note, that the init/default preset that loads when first inserting Aether is in an internal preset and is not stored anywhere as a ***.2ca preset file. If you would like to recall it in other ways, you could simply save it as a user preset when you first load the plug-in.

Also note, it is possible to change behavior so that Aether remembers the last loaded preset and recalls this preset instead of the internal default when inserting a new instance. If anyone would like to try this, I can give instructions on how to change it...

...after 50 pages I thought I couldn't resist any longer to say - this is a fun thread. Why did you ever post it if everything was clear in the title?

For me it is a no, by the way. The plugin is surely lovely, the demo crashed my system many times (shortly after the demo was out, might but waaaaaaay better now), and aether is heavily overpriced, in my opinion of course. Lovely, if it works crash-free, but too expensive.

Sometimes I get the feeling developers should for a moment think about the question if a price more people could afford would not mean more sales. I have no clue if that worked, but if 1/3 of the price would lead to 3 times more aether users....things would be nice. we are talking of years of coding here, a good reverb doesn't include more platinum and golden parts than a bad one, it takes more time maybe to code. So questions like these are maybe worth the consideration (group buys are a bit of a result of those questions, if the group buys are not still asking for a very high price...)

...not sure what version you tried (1.0.0?), but 1.5 (and 1.0.1 really) is extremely stable and we have extremely few reports of bug/crashes. The most common issues now are installer errors/confusion with Win7 and hybrid 32/64 systems/hosts which are generally easily resolved with some quick tech support. I suggest you try the 1.5 demo.

We feel Aether is correctly (aggressively even) priced for what it offers and many customers agree.

At the moment we are finishing the RTAS port--which is taking longer than we would like... Following that we plan to expand our product portfolio more and perhaps we will offer something that fits different segments of the market and appeals more directly to what you are personally looking for. Aether is (as I've already said imo) a fantastic effect/instrument... And it finds it's place in EVERY one of the productions that I'm directly involved with...

I'm making a switch to primarily using a Mac and so far the only issues I run into with adjusting, is just file locations.

By the way, I'll be working more with PTLE 8, so if you need any testing for the RTAS version, I'll be available.

@ Klemperer, definitely give it another go. I can't tell you that you'll change your mind and I won't, but IMHO, it's at least worth testing the latest to see if it can.

Aether is not terribly cheap but it is definitely worth the cost. It's an instrument in and unto itself. Try playing a synth into the Z Plane preset for instance. I practically had a spiritual moment with it last night.

I had something like that when I listened to Aether the first time. It always complemented the material I sent it and never got in the way. That's something it shares with Lexicon reverbs btw.

Well worth the cost. I use it for special fx a lot too, which is why using it in Reaper was so important to me. I can render things there incredibly fast, chop them up and send them through any fx again really quickly.

Good luck with the RTAS version.

Yeah, that's the one. It's tripped out in a really beautiful for sure, that's all I do know! I'll try the gong idea out.

Is 2C's Aether REALLY worth it? (the answer is: yes, certainly)
