definitely not a toy!
i just got it a few days when it came out for non-ipads and it's pretty great. exactly what i've been waiting for.... an update for bebot :p
and i'm hoping they keep updating it and add new synthesis features
i like how you can change presets quickly so you can actually change scales/chords while you're playing (unlike bebot). being able to record loops is convenient- but i've mainly used it to record into reaper so far. simple stuff like setting volume on the "vertical grid" for swells is nice
it's definitely the kind of music app i've been waiting for.. i'm sick of the drum machines with the tiny little buttons- sure they are cool for 20 minutes but i can do all of that on the comp. this thing is an instrument for sure, i've been using it on a new song i've been working on and it sounds great
it almost makes getting an ipad seem worth it. buuut i don't hate myself that much

possibly, but definately an iFad section...I suggested atouroboros wrote:a "Things Jordan Endorses" forum?system20 wrote:Agreed...Compyfox wrote:And there goes another thread.

synthtopia owner that perhaps he should start a seperate
site called iPadtopia...
I have no intentions of dropping $500.00+ for something
like this when I have thousands of dollars invested in
my DAW, VSTi's, Hardware synths etc.
I mean the Ifad is cool for someone that wants to mess
around on the go, but honestly, I can't take a 10"
screen trying to do what I do with a 22" screen. If the price
was ALOT lower. What pisses me off is you can get a
Korg Elektribe for the iFad, but not for PC...and
how much is the Korg Elektribe ? like $10.00 ??
why would Korg only appeal to the iFad users and not
PC/MAC ?
( rant over )

Someone sounds bitter. No one says you have to do anything. Do you think it makes you look/sound cool to call it "iFad"
To me, it just makes you seem angry over something little that can just as easily be ignored. And honestly, the easiest thing to do is to ignore the threads that pop up. It's not like there are 50 of them every day. iDevice threads are probably less than 1% of KVR's total daily traffic. I do wonder if they'd fit better in the Instruments plugins section or the Hardware forum, though
Now, it would be nice to have (and likely sell pretty well) a VST/AU Elektribe plugin. Korg could tie it to the iPad version allowing the import/export of presets/patterns/what-not, like bleep!box, iDrum, Jasuto, etc and people would probably be all over the plugin version.
Regarding Morphwiz, it's, imo, a very intuitive/expressive instrument, if you look at it in that light. Fairly basic synthesis, but it does allow you to whip up your own sounds with it and how/if it morphs from one to another at all, as well as how those sounds change notes.
I have an iPhone and a MacBook, so for me there's no need at all for an iPad, really. The screen itself is of decent enough size considering I was okay with my old 10" netbook, but I really think it needs more resolution. 1024x768 was cool 10 years ago
Make the thing 1280x1024 minimum and we'll talk
