Do your children have strange dreams? Or is your studio well insulated from the sleeping area? :-}

thanks amused and ew, i didn't know that kore was keeping the engine dll's in a special folder (i somehow thought they were better hidden). will try that later but not before i make a backup of the present dll's.
cheers

@meffy, actually the sleeping room of my son is next to my studio but as he is already sleeping now (he is just about to turn 10 months) i will do him a favour and restrict myself to headphones. about strange dreams, i'm quite positive that the children have them even without being exposed to sounds from reaktor, at least that is what my elder daughter tells me when she sometimes wakes up during the night.

Ah, 'phones. Good idea that.

okay, installed it. after a quick check everything seems to work fine. the vsti plugin works in cubase 5.5, and reaktor 5.5 is also working within kore 2.1. standalone is also fine on my system (quadcore q6600, windows vista 32bit, edirol ua-1000 audio interface). very nice update and for me quite unexpected. thank you ni and ew and amused for their help. now on to explore it further.
ps. excuse me that i'm not so excited about the addition of electronic instruments 1 and 2 because i bought them when they came out (the same happened by the way with the fm7 and absynth add-on sounds which i bought just to find them free in later updates). i don't want to rant about this but i think ni should find a way to compensate their loyal customers for things like that. but okay, for all who have the electronic instruments for the first time, enjoy them, there are some absolute gems to be found there.
cheers

I'm in the same situation about the electronic intruments expansions and I agree that NI does not really care for its loyal customers.
Yet, my biggest complaint would be that there is no way to upgrade to Komplete no matter how many individual instruments you own.
I have 6 NI instruments and 4 or 5 Korepacks but there is no option for me to upgrade to Komplete. Go figure.

Aside from that, I'm really happy about the update. :tu:

and yet the 5.5 upgrade is completely free. seems like an almost foolish (from a business perspective) level of doting on loyal customers who mostly haven't paid NI for reaktor since they bought it back in 2005.

in other words, i can't believe that people are complaining that ni is being somehow disloyal by giving away products for free. but that might be because i don't have EI I or II and i'm pretty excited to be getting them gratis.

i bought them , as well ...
i got the use of them for 4-1/2 years ...

seems very generous of NI ...
i'm happy for those that get this benefit ...

some people just need to piss in the soup ...

next time , don't buy anything ...
just wait around , for some odd years ...
maybe you'll get lucky ...

I also have EI 1 and 2 and it doesn't bother me at all that NI are now giving them away. I think it's fantastic. I can't wait to get home and try R 5.5! :hyper:
