I like to plug Numerology into Live, and use Numerology to make random sequences. Then I play a lead using a real guitar over top of it. It sounds pretty awesome, actually.
Meh.

WTF?!?! I would so damn much buy this if it only was available for DirectWave! This sampleset got me really convinced about it's powers. Awesome sounds, good job, and good luck!
Best regards from Johan Brodd.

Good thing we have a DirectWave version planned :)

Also, Shreddage was just reviewed by Computer Music. 9/10! From the May 2010 issue:
This library focuses on rock and metal rhythm guitar with raw samples DI'd from a Guitar tuned to Bflat (ie its meant for use with an amp sim). Articulations include sustained notes, power chords, pinch hammronics, mutes and slides, with switching accomplished via velocity. The note range goes up to around the first A (fifth fret) on the high E string, which is plenty. The 1GB sample set sounds superb, and with eight round-robin alternatives, up and down strokes and double-tracked patches (using Kontakt's multiple outputs), it can be highly convincing, even with frenetic thrash and metal picking patterns
9/10
Shreddage 3 Stratus: Next generation Kontakt Player guitar, now available!

Impact Soundworks - Cinematic sounds, world instruments, electric guitars, synths, percussion, plugins + more!

Congratulations! That's excellent news.

How does this sound through free amp sims like Acme Bar Gig or Le Poule.

I'm not up for buying Guitar Rig and since the amp is at least half of the sound with this type of sound I an interested in how other amps sound.

That's fine production work on those demo tunes.

If I had windows I'd gladly whip something up =/

I imagine, though, that a quality amp sim plugin will sound just as good as any other quality amp sim plugin.

You could always download Theo Krueger's free Yamaha Pacifica library to get an idea of how those amp sims sound. You'll even have a good lead instrument to pair with Shreddage. :) Iirc those are both pretty awesome plugins made some some good guys. I know someone at least has a $25 or shareware version of a really cool plugin. Alas windows only and Parallels 5 is sometimes... shifty... on my MacBook.

And check this out, you lucky windows bastards...

Brent Randall (aka Koolkeys) has reviewed Shreddage on ProRec.com, awarding it a 9.5/10! You can read the full review here:

I'd also like to announce that we are working on an expansion to Shreddage. This will contain TRUE LEGATO playing as well as vibrato independent of pinch squeals and several other features as well. No ETA yet but we're shooting to have it done by at least the end of the year. This may actually double the size of the library!

Okay man, I bought it, it shipped 2 days ago, and it's impressive. Thanks.

BUT I have a little problem. You see, Power Chords have full-mutes, half-mutes and unmuted sound. Good. Now, what about single string half-mutes that sound something like I can make them sound in RealLPC? I mean, I could start explaining the sound I want to take out of this great library (maybe it exists and I can't find a way to make it).

So, this kinda is what I want (from sec 8 to sec 11):

http://www.mediafire.com/?wpv3ea1een9701x (http://www.mediafire.com/?wpv3ea1een9701x)

As you can hear, first you hear normal tight-mutes and then half mutes, almost-open string, that sounds great.

This is what I can do with RealLPC:

http://www.mediafire.com/?lrvayq2tx9lohb7 (http://www.mediafire.com/?lrvayq2tx9lohb7)

RealLPC's pinch harmonics SUCK. And I totally love the ones in Shreddage, they RULE. But I don't know why, this seem to sound more powerful (and more like the sound I want) than the result I got from Shreddage, here:

http://www.mediafire.com/?7ccrrdec7agzp9w (http://www.mediafire.com/?7ccrrdec7agzp9w)

So, is there any way I can get some single-string, half-muted, almost-open string sound? If not, will you please include that in the expansion you guys are working in? I'd totally buy that, since our project is based on Post-Hardcore, Screamo, Metalcore music that uses a lot of breakdowns and stuff like that (not a band, a project. I'd talk about that but nah I don't think I have to bore you all to death)

I tried with every velocity combination, and also with every option in the library. Well, I hope you can help me.

By the way. I used the exact same amp sim configuration for both RealLPC and Shreddage.

Another question... I have a friend who is teaching me some music theory. But still, I'd like to know if Shreddage is tuned in standard tuning, or any other tuning (personally I use drop C# with RealLPC, since I can actually see the fret I'm playing when I use it, and then I can use the pitching levels to get what I want from the strings, but as I cannot see the frets in Shreddage, this can get a little more difficult).

Despite all this, I love this library. I mean, really, any other library/vst/etc will always sound a little bit ROBOT-LIKE no matter what you do, except this one. All other guitar-sim products remind me the sound of the intro song of Power Rangers (first season) lol. I can really recommend it to anyone. It's not perfect, but it's sure better than most (if not all, because I haven't tested them all) other similar products on the market.

Thanks in advance!
