I was just recording some tracks using Vandal on my baritone, in this case it wa out of convience because the tracks are only reference tracks. It sounded good though.
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Holy crap!
Thats it, I'm adding an addition to our license..If you have less than 10 posts at KVR you are not allowed to speak about ABG products..at KVR...:)

HAHA Just joking guys..Once again though, I don't think Sascha and company has anything to do with it..Thats promotional suicide...IMO these guys as I've said before are way too smart and well mannered to participate in such schemes.

Now, Sascha...HAHA, You have cost me 2 months worth of work! I was almost ready to release and out comes the modeled cabs in Vandal..I have been studying like a madman on your approach, and I have boiled it down I think to a single knob which we inappropriately, called..dynamics....But wait..it gets better!

The new cabs and dynamics knob, in turn lead me to finding out that our tonestack was not right, so I built a new tonestack, which then pointed out issues with the tube code, so we fixed that, which then we found that with the new tonestack and new tube code the upsampling was wrong...Think it ends there...Nope...Now we have to go back through each head and reset all the values to work with the new code only to find out that none of our stomps are working correct any longer...OMG! I think that was the correct order of happenings..but I could be wrong...I don't know anymore I think I lost my mind! No wait maybe its a fit, I could be having a fit...

Every time a new ampsim comes out, it happens. When Revalver MKII came out, there were roving bands of true believers saying it was the best ampsim ever. Then it happened again with TH1. Even Waves GTR had its moment. Now it's Vandal's turn... (at least for 4 people.)
Well, that's because those other sims represented progress, as does Vandal - amp sims' development is ongoing...we're not done yet...there will be several more milestones, hopefully. Vandal is just the most advanced so far (in both dynamics and tone IMO).
redshift factor wrote:But the one constant through all of this is always AmpliTube. It's the one ampsim that always has a loyal following, regardless of the latest craze. It's the only one that has withstood the test of time. When the excitment over the latest ampsim subsides, AmpliTube is always still left standing.
I absolutely cannot stand the strident nature of Amplitube - not I, not II, not III. I have never seen Amplitube as the leader in amp sim development (sales and propaganda - definitely!). The Fender and Hendrix versions sounded good but Amplitube just clings to their absolute unwillingness to build in any dynamic reaction at all. But, it seems to be what a lot of metal-heads want, so that's good...now they can stop f#ckin up tube amps and f#ck up amp sims instead (or solid state amps - that's where that metal tone is found natively).

Fair enough you are entitled to your opinion

But being a metal head myself, i have never f**ked up any amplifier in my life, either virtual or more likely (since i still use 'real' ones) All-Valve amps, FET/Solid-State and some hybrids. You have no clue young man

I'm 48, young man - amd I'm talking about trying to make tube amps do that strident chugga-chugga crap - that's the kind of noise that comes out of transistor amps naturally - no need to waste valuable tube amp components

You are misinformed.
AmpliTube does have dynamic reaction built in. It always has, and it just keeps getting better with each version. IK Multimedia were the very first developers to pioneer it. They even have the word 'Dynamic' in the name of their modeling technique - Dynamic Saturation Modeling. If you're not experiencing dynamic response when playing, then you need to double check either your input levels, or your playing technique.
