It certainly is a joke. Anyway, there's a nice compressor with a large number of bands, which make it closer to having pitch-based bands (it's actually about 3-4 notes per band), and it is Voxengo Soniformer. :)
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here. ;)

Yes, with images of every knob, and a description of what each knob does. We have to cover each knob on EACH band though, because each band's knobs are set to react differently based on the pitch it's covering. We fine-tuned the compressor to be able to provide punchy bass with crisp high notes. So the algorithm changes as you get higher.

There's just no other way to do it.

I wonder if it's a conflict of interest for me to give a 10 out of 10 on my own compressor? It's not like any other compressor can come close anyways, right?

Brent

The interface on MinimalSystem plugins is absolutely amazing. However, I found myself a bit in trouble trying to get a good setting for drums (sequenced) with EezySqueeze Compressor.
The controls are clear and quite effective but somehow I just couldn't... maybe was my "bad hearing day".

Now why do you say that ?

but yes... for meters you have to pay.
Anyway, you have your DAWs mixer strip meter, that should do it... I guess.

Yes, of course I say that because the free comps (you first made a general statement, then mentioned Eezysqueeze) do not have meters at all...

and no, the mixer strip meter of course won't do - how do you measure GR then?
(not to mention the rather common case where the compressor sits somewhere in the middle of a chain)

Well, they all have the looks, the free and the not so free.
I'm not the biggest fan of them. Tried some and... well, got better results with other plugins. I don't know if was the wrong plugin or just the wrong hand on the buttons, but I couldn't get a result that I like.
