aaaah, I also have seen on your IK support FAQ page my "iPod playing" issue due to my current choice in cable, LOL. Hope that's the problem. I am waiting for guitarcenter to stock iRig cable as it is currently only avail as pre-order. I am hopeful all will be fine when I get the real deal. JD

oops, posted this maybe while u were posting. Yes, should all be remedied. It will be a blast! Thanx. And ps... I sure hope u guys end up with a software plug-in deal with Marshall in the near future, like you have with Fender. Then my life will be complete, LOL. Thanx again & I will keep all posted on my iRig EMG escapades - post real iRig cable

Hi Peter, I'm suffering more or less the same problem with my irig. I sent a service request about my irig problem, and no answer was replied. I can't hear my guitar, but metronome and samples can be heard without any issue. I've tested on another iphone 3G, but no guitar sound can be heard though. I'm using OS4 and I've tried everything to make it work without any success. Could you guide me a little bit?, IK multimedia support is not very quick and I need my irig working as soon as possible. I am not in tech support and honestly can only speak to the cleaning of the jack or making sure it is plugged in all the way. I don't have any "known issue" of this sort that I see aside from these but if you PM your ticket number I'll get it over to them and ask about it.

You should get a ticket number, please check your junk and spam folders. If you still can't find anything, submit all the appropriate information via http://www.ikmultimedia.com/ContactIK.html and also send the same to me via PM and I'll get it correlated together so there's something in the system for sure that way AND I can follow up and get someone on it. Hi Peter, you were right. I cleaned up my iphone jack and it works. IK Multimedia support advised me in the same way, and they were right as well. Nevertheless, there is a very good test used to see whether iRig cable or iphone jack (microphone part of the jack) has the problem. Do you have one Apple white iPhone headset (with MIC) handy? (it comes with the iPhone).
Pls check if by using that you can hear your voice through the amps and fxs.
If NOT this means the problem is on the iPhone headset connector, it may be dirty or defective.
If it works with the headset then the problem is the iRig cable.

For some nice tones, check out Jon Herington (Steely Dan's guitarist for a while now) playing some of their classics. Even I was surprised at the tones he got for those songs!

I'm the EMG guy. My "real" iRig cable works just as it should with my EMG's
Just scooped up the full app from iTunes. It's killer! Looking fwd to a full review & also posting a vid. Although, my vid may not be all that dynamic... I play on 10 across the board, hahahahaaaaaa.... http://www.myspace.com/jdsbluesconnection

I have the exact same problem. Got my iRig today and downloaded Amplitube free (for now). I can hear the metronome and the samples but nothing more and i cant use the tuner, seems like there is no guitar signal thru Amplitube... I have iOS4.01, could that be the problem? I have sent an email to the support but no answer yet.. I really would like to try this out now.. Shouldn't be the volume limit (which does now in iOS 4 apply to all apps instead of just iTunes/iPod as before) but it really does still sound like something in there is blocking the input connection and not the output since you can hear things but get no input. I don't recommend being really aggressive but I'm leaning toward there really being something in there judging from these symptoms.magnus_p wrote: I have the exact same problem.
