Haven't listened to that in ages. Should go dig it out.

Correct!

I really didn't think anyone was going to get that one...

All You Pretty Girls
Shake You Donkey Up
Seagulls Screaming Kiss Her, Kiss Her

(The Everyday Story of) Smalltown
I Bought Myself a Liarbird
Reign of Blows (Vote No Violence!)
You're the Wish You Are I Had
I Remember the Sun
Train Running Low on Soul Coal

(Just in case anyone didn't get what I was going on about!)

And there I was feeling all smug. Image
Ah well, let's try something mildly google-resistant...

Pete Seeger (Lindow Man, found in a peat bog)
Leadbelly (subtle use of the symbol for lead, there!)

Spot on. Over to you, Frank!

(I saw a show about Lindow Man where some wag archaeologist dubbed him 'Pete Marsh', so I'm not entirely to blame for the pun.)

Morning Barnadine! It's 1:30 AM here, so my next question's going up in about 12 hours (possibly longer if I have to make it Google-proof ).

Bedtime bump...

They're band names. In retrospect, 2's not quite as clever as I thought it was, and 3's a bit obscure; but I'm still quite proud of 1.

3 is Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine

working on the others.

1 is Sly and the Family Stone.

For some reason I can't see 2; even when I copy/paste the imageshack address in a new tab, it just times out. I'll check again later.

Edit: I can see it now, though I have to really squint--and then close my eyes completely and bite my tongue while humming--to see the lads with moppish hairdos.

that's the one that's been troubling me most - a grainy b/w photo (looks early 1960s), 4 young lads dressed in black with moppish hairdos, standing in a doorway, a sign above reads, "The Cavern Club".

no luck so far :(
