Lol, I hear you about summer vampirism and blackout creme. :D
The problem with the weather is: the EULA prevents you from giving surplus degrees to the poor, the eskimos for example.
Atm I'd gladly donate ca 20 degrees.

I'm picking up a 1981 Aria Pro II Thor-Sound 300 later today (which happens to be Thursday!)-- with the irony and the fact it's my dream guitar, I'm one happy dude... :D

Pretty guitar !
Yes, the god of thunder smiles upon that deal ... :hihi:
I once owned a Yamaha with very similar specs and looks, good sounding, lightweight axe with immense sustain. :tu:
Btw, in that type of guitar (like in a Mockingbird e.g.) the classic DiMarzio Super Distortion / PAF combination sounds fantastic imho, though I'd never put them in a Gibson personally, ymmv.
Instant '80s rock played with a Marshall. 8)

6 strings, same size same string tension
12 frets, equal distance between each
72 touch sensors (customizable sensitivity) for each fret.
wireless usb connectivity.

Oh, and it would be nice if it was black.

Hi Dean,
sounds like a plan !
Rivera amps are great, you'll finally get the tones of Vince Gill  and Will Ray  , without all that nasty distortion lesser amps are plagued with ! 8)
Who knows, over time the color of your guitars might change to tasteful pastels, too ? :D

Btw, somebody should mail that Slipknot guy a manual for the baseball cap, he got it all backwards ! :P

I'm seriously thinking about going into guitar center and trading the guitars (incl. a DeLuxe Strat '57 Tribute) I have towards the Jeff Beck signature strat. My strat has fantastic tone but is a slow mofo to play, deep neck and real jumbos for frets.

Think again  , all Jeff Beck Strats I ever played had the most extreme baseball bat necks imaginable.
Although that was the original model, maybe the current ones have changed ?
Don't you think you can adjust to that neck you have ?
Fatter profile sure helps with the tone ime.

as someone who spent a lot of time working for a music chain with the largest inventory of used gear I can honestly tell you that you would do better selling your guitars on CL or ebay (I think CL is better for short sales). Here's the basic formula for trades, be honest with yourself and ask yourself how much would you expect to pay for the used piece of gear then expect to get between 25 and 40% depending on condition, demand and how many they already have in inventory.

At Daddy's Junky Music because they have such a large inventory we could had a book that was always updated with what used gear sold for and how long it took, while you can't do that without working there you can get a good idea of what they sell used gear for so you can guestimate the value.

You could have alook at Charvel's San Dimas Type 1, its got a wonderful neck, but they come stock with floyd and 2xHB Jan which might not be to your taste man. I hear you on neck profiles - it for me quite literally makes or brakes a guitar. Have you tried www.warmoth.com for replacement necks which with your strats will literally fit in without any mods:

http://www.warmoth.com/Pages/GuitarNecks.aspx

Great range of options and profiles and could save your strats from a trade-in where you will likely get ripped off

Hope that helps man and all the best

btw my formula was for trades only, for straight sales of used gear never...repeat never go to a store unless you're desperate because you're looking at 15-20%

Nice tones indeed especially Will Ray's  listening and the breakup he achieves is fantastic! Except you know how me and clean get along

Well i would never rule anything out as you know mate but i doubt that is happening anytime soon, after all the Rivera i am after/dreaming of is called the 'Kucklehead' which i guess says it all really  :help: and the JCM800 goes by the name 'The Beast'...So im a lost cause atm, although they are available for roughly £800 and even cheaper used still can't fit one in as it is mate and since i have plenty of heads already im more looking at pre-amps to jack into the power-amps :)

Such as:

- depending on price!
- more likely

(Mk II Version)
these bad boys go for peanuts and also are very easy to mod - so definately
and a few of the usual suspects like JMP-1 which we both already enjoy alot, a Boogie Formula pre (which i sold ages ago but am missing it these days or even the studio pre if its at the right price)...etc.

More amps but racked which can be fitted in read shoehorned in and pass as 'Studio Stuff' when its really for satisfying my GAS syndrome and definately some more pedals (for a change!)

That's funny, I have or have had most of those pre's and amps. Check out the early rack-mount Rectifiers, those were all hand-wired and were absolute monsters. I'd certainly recommend it over the Kerry King and the Knucklehead channel of my Fandango, given the tone you're after.

I will keep a eye out for a rackmount recto - thanks for the recommend. I have owned a dual-rectifier and many other expensive amp heads but sold it (the Dual-Recto) as i bought it dirt cheap and made a very tidy profit and my DSL50 head gets me any tone i ever need. Its not so much the tone of any of the videos which i am after Eric, more just the variety of pre-amps on second-hand prices/used/ex-demo..etc. I can't help myself...i do not need any of them but i would certainly like to have some of them, you know? Guitar and bass gear i can not help always geting excited about. Studio gear doesn't give me the buzz as its more business if you see where im coming from. So i have alot already which covers all my needs in all honesty but there is always room for more :help:

Dean

Edit: The Knucklehead KR7 is a different beast than the regular Knukleheads as it has alot more options if you checkout the video, although playing it in person is obviously far superior and its just sublime for my style and needs except the price of Rivera amps over here are ultra expensive. So that particular head is possibly the only one of a select few that i seriously would crumble and buy:

The other two are a Soldano Hotrod 50 and a VHT/Fryette Pitbull Ultralead

all the best and cheers :)
