Zebra though is one sweet mother of a synth, and I also find it easier to program, despite it being more complex.
Mind you, this comes from a demo version user, don't own any of these, but I'd go for Zebra, don't understand the ACE hype (well, hype IMO). To all ACE lovers, no offense, please.
Funny,i feel exactly the same.
Funny, I feel the exact opposite 8) :)

I think Bazille is absofantastolutely fabulous though. Maybe i just haven't tried ACE enough. That could be it.

Here's another thread from before on the same topic, to read about it.

You can also download the demos of each one and try, here.

and here.

I enjoy owning them both, and they are different in many ways.

I guess I don't quite understand what the sound of cross modulation is like. I have the ACE demo and so far none of the sounds or presets are any different than what I can do in Zebra, or perhaps it's more for academic (read: abstract) sounds? Believe me, I'm the biggest fan of Zebra on Earth, I just don't understand the power of ACE.

I'd go with Zebra 2 over ACE any day. But ACE is an absolute steal considering the price. 8)

don't make the mistake and underesthimate the complexity of ace. you can to stuff with it far beyond any imaginable. you can do stuff with ace you can't do with any other digital synth, even digi modulars fail there, only analog modulars can cope with that stuff.
Live and learn, I say. I hear you, and I think I'm going to reinstall the demo. Surely you can't ALL be wrong if you guys like the synth so much. I used to think you all love Urs so much that you're too easily hyped for ACE, but maybe I was just being grumpy. No offence, guys, everyone has their irrational moments.
Thanks anyway for getting me interested again.

Cheers

I agree with the general consensus that these two synths don't really overlap, but they're both awesome.

If I could only have one, it would definitely be Zebra; I find it easier to program/tweak, and I can virtually always find a sound that I want. To me, ACE is much more of a character sound, fantastic when it fits, but I can't always get what I want. YMMV.
