Quite a full featured little pocket electro sequencing package, hopefully spend a little time with it tonight, tho i bought it mainly for the bus!

now, open the gate and let the grumpies out..
(the ones that'll say that i shouldn't be posting here about these toys! :hihi: )

This starts to be a serious stuff available for such portables... Not toys at all. Notice innovations in UI, which have been forced by small screen (and touch capability).

Give that 3-4 years and I'm not sure if it'll not be preferred way of doing music. Perhaps not for big productions as whole, but for synths, composition and moderate recordings...

Nanostudio indeed is a very powerful program, beats the hell out of other sequencer apps for Idevices. Great many features with excellent useability. And thank god it has a linear sequencer and not one of those crappy pattern-based that most Iphone seq programs uses... Highly recommended for anybody who owns Iphone or Touch.

Nonsense! Some nerve posting that zhip zhash on the Host forum. :x

That is coming from an iPhone user here who will be taking a closer look at the very least as it is a rather interesting prospect judging by the video :hihi:

Slick IMO. These kind of apps are getting better and better. 8)

you can download a free version for mac/pc to try it out
-tho they do warn that they didn't spend as much time on it as on the actual app,and wont guarantee it works on all systems. just downloading it now.

edit-it's about the same size on screen as the app :hihi:
probably not a great indication of the app as you cant 'multi-touch' your
p.c screen (well i guess you could- but nothing will happen  )

I've been playing with this thing non-stop on the iPad. It's pretty freakin' cool. The Eden synth is capable of some terrific sounds and resampling is a great feature. We're starting to see some quality music tools now for these devices. Aurora, iSequence, bleep!BOX, MorphWizard and Jasuto are getting a lot of use around my house. TouchOSC remains my most-used app, though (well, that and Sketchbook Pro), but nanostudio has been running almost all day today!
There are rocketships outside of my window. Really: www.cosmo.org

This app is sick. Its the best in its class bar none. Built in sampling! Really really great!

I'll never own an iphone, but apps like this make me a little more curious!

By all accounts they're good, unless you actually want to use them as a phone.
Why not finally ruin the promise of your early directorial career by releasing what appears to be a big-budget remake of Mortal Kombat with the word 'Bender' in the title?

I jest, have a touch myself, even though I don't think its the best portable music player, I do however think the range of apps is unbeatable. Also have an ipad, again the apps blow me away (ielectribe anyone and off topic bbc news - out yesterday), So I've downloaded nano already. Will have a play next week.

EDIT: spelling

mine is no problems whatsoever (3gs).. never a dropout, great reception wherever i've been.. i changed carriers when i got it, to australia's main carrier, as the one i had before dropped out nearly every call where we live on my old nokia n73. its probably more the carrier than anything

That's exactly why I went out a couple of days ago and bought an iPod Touch. It's totally what I always thought a "cell phone" DAW should be... My only gripe is that I didn't just get an iPad; it would be even more awesome on a bigger screen. But that, of course, would be defeating the purpose since I had been yearning for an even more flexible, ultra-compact setup than my DSi... So long, Korg DS-10+!
