I understand why you'd want the plugin, I used it for years, but it is deprecated these days by other free IR loaders. LePou's is excellent for use with guitar cabinet IRs, offering exactly the sort of options you would want in such a plugin, and it's free too.

I wanted to try it out since It seems that a few people have had really good results from Kefir IR loader for cabinet modeling, I can definitely see a place for it in my arsenal. the IR loader I'm really liking right now it's the free SIR IR loader with the Lepou's LE456 Amp for guitar. It looks like I'm going to have to Demo the SIR2 on my never ending search for the best tone. SIR2 is extremely sophisticated, definitely one of the best IR tools around. LePou's IR loader is just really easy to work with for guitar cabs, offering the same controls you'd expect when working with a console and two mics coming in - phase, series/parallel, pan, etc. - and easy on the CPU. I used to use KefIR but I just don't have a place for it anymore.Maybelater wrote:I wanted to try it out since It seems that a few people have had really good results from Kefir IR loader for cabinet modeling, I can definitely see a place for it in my arsenal. the IR loader I'm really liking right now it's the free SIR IR loader with the Lepou's LE456 Amp for guitar. SIR2 is great for more than just cabs, you know, it's among the best for working with more comprehensive IRs... A good collection of IRs and SIR2 will let you put your tracks in virtually any space you want
I understand the quest, but it seems like you do have your priorities straight (not that you need my approval or anything, haha), have fun testing stuff out.

Do any of these other IR loaders have the adjustable filter length feature like keFIR did? That was the thing that set it apart to me - most cab IRs are way longer than they need to be and that uses TONS of extra CPU cycles (especially if you are layering IRs in parallel)! The ability to shorten them non-destructively in realtime is pretty much a "must have" feature now for me. If none of these other loaders have that feature, then they aren't really a suitable substitute IMO.

I remember SIR used to let you adjust the length of the IR.
