When they come out with a multi-track recorder with linear editing capabilities, I will be happy.
So far I have 4 track which is cool, but no cut and paste.
And I have Akai Synthstation which I feel is a total waste of money as there is no real-time recording and editing the piano roll is an extremely clunky experience.

Why is all this crap appearing in the KVR forums
Shouldn't it be off topic ?
This sort of stuff has been around for years on PocketPC and so on
I guess they weren't trendy enough before iripoff though where they

the difference is with a multitouch device it's just a better experience. you cant compare an iPad to an iPaq :) sorry, no dice.

you are speaking now to a PC guy for years, who drank the iphone koolaid then the ipad koolaid. and i'm so glad i got the ipad. but that's a different topic.

just an fyi who you're talking to now.

i owned an iPaq pocket pc, and it cant touch the iPhone :P

P.S. why the apple hate? :)

You could try Rectools08. It's an 8 track daw with cut and paste. I bought it a while ago, and everything works the way it says. You can transfer your tracks to your computer too. Have to say, how amazing is it that we can walk around with a multitrack recording studio in our pocket cell phones now? :)

Have to add: NanoStudio literally is the most amazing portable sequencer I have ever seen. Utterly staggering.

There is no comparison, and I've spent too much money on music making... this is literally pissing on *every* alternative from a huge height. So well featured and powerful, and the synth is a beaut.

Particularly nice running on iPad (the only niggle about the iphone version is that the screen is so small! :) but at least it's in my pocket at all times)
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Yeah, it's been around to a certain degree but the technology has finally caught up to the point where making music on a mobile device can be a viable alternative/threat to making music on a desktop/laptop IMHO. I haven't done anything musically on my laptop in a while and I don't foresee firing up FL Studio anytime soon. Granted the weather is majorly contributing to this... it's hella muggy right now and I don't have AC; the front-facing airflow from my electric fan is better without a laptop blocking it. :hihi:

I was reluctant to buy a one-way ticket to Jobstown where I'm cautiously sipping the Flavor Aid. (let's be historically accurate! )

Because it's an easy target and now Apple has put me in the paradoxical situation where I still want to talk smack on them but I'm thoroughly enjoying my new iPod Touch for everything but its original purpose... Why would I waste precious battery life on listening to shite music from the iTunes store? 8)

Even I'm over the apple hate, that's really saying something :hihi:

exactly. isn't it surprising that this isn't funded by akai or korg or something? the coder is a true guru imo.

i expected some hiccups in the wave copying too, but not a single glitch and i copied about a gig worth of samples in several diff directories..

Thanks for this! It looks pretty much like what I need! My goal is to record melodic and rhythmic ideas with my voice and piece them together into a song structure before I go into my pc daw to work on the actual production.

+1 to what haydxn writes here. It beats all the other iPhone music apps out there. I got Beatmaker, Argon, Thumbjam, Jasuto Pro, Noise.io and none of them comes close to Nanostudio. It's simply amazing!
