My votes are for less aliasing and better sounding filter resonance.
The ring modulator could also do with sounding better.
I think you should work on the sound and bug fixes before adding new stuff.

I always like random presets.zerocrossing wrote:I'd love to see a better preset management system with preset browser.
Plus, how about making an effect so we can hear as if the synth was doused with petrol & lit on fire? I always wanted to go Jimi Hendrix on a synth, but that would be a tad expensive on a real hardware synth.

Hi Chani,Chani wrote:Will this instrument theoretically have all of the functionality of the original ARP 2600?
I ask for a specific reason, but I'll keep that to myself for now.
The current release of TimewARP 2600 has all of the original functionality already, other than a nifty case with a handle on top, and about 60 lbs of weight.
You can currently modulate any cv with any signal, just like the original. If there is anything missing from the real hardware, please point it out. I do understand that the ARP 2600 is a very deep instrument. I have tried to capture as much of it as I understand.
Best regards.
Jim

Which modules do you feel have too much aliasing? Also, how would you like the resonance changed? With the addition of different filter types, you will get different resonance options.Acid Mitch wrote:My votes are for less aliasing and better sounding filter resonance.

Also, please enumerate the bugs you are speaking of so I can know what is bugging you
Best,

I'll have to think on this one.

Well, in the context of Zebra and Sylenth1, you don't have a "cable" based UI so yeah, it works great, but when you're working with wires and all of the sudden something is on another tab you've broken the paradigm. Frankly, I'd be fine with loosing the cables ala a Vaz Modular or having two views.HunterKiller wrote:Really?zerocrossing wrote:Tabs can often be confusing too.
Think Sylenth1 or Zebra/Ace, pretty simple, right!?
Keeps everything neat and not to mention: opens up a lot of possibilities.

I just thought of a cool idea. What if clicking on the speaker gave you an emulated output of the original's speaker? Could be cool for lo-fi effects.

Did you think about backpanels?zerocrossing wrote:Well, in the context of Zebra and Sylenth1, you don't have a "cable" based UI so yeah, it works great, but when you're working with wires and all of the sudden something is on another tab you've broken the paradigm. Neat idea. I will have to give this one some thought. I had also thought of using the speaker holes for 'circuit hacks', or perhaps a patch bay to break out cables on other screens.zerocrossing wrote:I just thought of a cool idea. I was actually pondering a "patch view" screen for another product, but perhaps if TimewARP had a mode that you could switch to that would show another view of the patch based on the graph that is created by the cables in more of a top down fashion, that might be useful...zerocrossing wrote:Well, in the context of Zebra and Sylenth1, you don't have a "cable" based UI so yeah, it works great, but when you're working with wires and all of the sudden something is on another tab you've broken the paradigm. Hmmm... Interesting thought. The ARP 2600 has a Tolex back, but perhaps a view inside of the box at a circuit level... hmmmm... I don't know if that would be too useful.rectus_dominus wrote:Did you think about backpanels?zerocrossing wrote:Well, in the context of Zebra and Sylenth1, you don't have a "cable" based UI so yeah, it works great, but when you're working with wires and all of the sudden something is on another tab you've broken the paradigm. My own concerns have already been raised, so there is no point in repeating.
Slightly off topic but;
I had Timewarp installed on an XP Laptop.
I've since moved to a Windows 7 Laptop.
I assume that means I have no lives left. I did write in but received no reply. Can you confirm whether this is the situation or not?
In any case, can you at least think about reviewing the whole copy protection thing?
Thanks!

Right or wrong, I'm tired of feeling penalized by software developers for legitimately purchasing their software.Thank you for registering Way Out Ware's TimewARP 2600. With the purchase of this product you are entitled to two authorizations of the program. XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX has 0 registrations left after the computer just registered

I apologize for not getting back to you. I had a problem with my mail system, and I am in the process of trying to move to a different service provider to get more reliable email service. You should just need to write me for more authorization for this circumstance.Aloysius wrote:My own concerns have already been raised, so there is no point in repeating.

I am planning on re-working the copy protection. I would like to make it less intrusive and easier for end users. This is a difficult subject for both developers and end users, and I am trying to determine the best route going forward.
On this topic, because I do feel it is relevant, what products do this properly in your opinion?
Best regards,
Jim

Off hand I would say I like what Melda Production are doing. 'Keyfiles contain your personal information, so if you share it, you will be traced and prosecuted'. That seems reasonable . . .
When RNDigital went to the wall, I was left with expensive software that I can no longer use. God forbid that would happen to your company but these things do happen. Therefore, I would like to be protected as well.
Toontrack Style: I find their system to be very good and unobtrusive but . . . if I am using 'too many' virtual instruments, then all of their products 'forget' they are already registered on my Computer and therefore, I am unable to use them. Crazy! Same goes for both KORG Legacy collections.
I don't have an iLok. I have a Steinberg key (eLicenser) which is great in some ways but I use my eLicenser protected VSTs less often because the dongle uses up a USB Port I need for other things. When you've got several Hard Drives and keyboards running off a few USB Ports and USB expansion splitters . . . it all adds up.
Simple Serial Numbers. Not tied to any piece of hardware.
