OH SHI!
I should've said "...for helping two of MY favourites to get to the top"
{RU}Я хотел сказать, будет ли спец.приз за то, что я помог 1-му и 2-му месту своими оценками. Мой английский меня подвел :D

I think it would be best if I PM him and await a response re. where he's at before I get down to the business of dishing out the prizes.
I was afraid that Karmacomposer disappeared after the devastating criticism of Prizm. :( But I see his comment on August, 2nd :)

Ah.... just checked in and see my earlier post didn't get posted .... bloody laptop!!

So anyway, I was saying ...

Must have missed the Prizm criticism ... thats a real shame!

Anyway, I know the week is crawling onwards, but I suggest we hang on another day for Mike to get in touch, and then skip his prizes until he feels able to catch up and reaffirm/reconsider his prize donation arrangement.

I know this will disappoint the winner(s), but I dont think Mike would allow his support of OSC to lapse if he was not under some pressure or other way more up the priority chain than OSC ... therefore, I am not for adding to that pressure.

Rather, I am very grateful for the support he has given OSC to date, and I hope he is well, and gets through any challenges he may be faced with.

I'll catch you all tomorrow.

Hi folks, sorry I've dropped off the radar a bit ... had to take the driving seat for this weeks Aberdeen Voice release ... done now, but I'm knackered.

Had some contact from Mike, and he appears to be well, and is applying some thought to how he can support the comp .. i'll say no more 'til i've had some kip, and heard from Mike.

Thanks for your patience ... but if you're champing at the bit, there's still more than 2 days to go to submit a track for OSC18, and nearly 4 weeks to have a go at the NA2SC ... :) have fun, catch you all tomorrow.

Not sure what elevator pitch means (edit: now I know what it means (I think)), but I'm doing more or less OK - pretty tired, but I'll recover from the terrible month of work, hopefully ;-)
Tonight it was my boss's concert and it was just great - a mezzo soprano, a double bass and three (3) bassons, a totally odd combination of instruments, but you just have no idea how well it works!
How's life treating you? :)

Hi folks ... well, we're no further on prize wise, karmacomposer has been away for a while .. he did get back to me, and I still await his decision.
However, as I said I dont want to put any pressure on, so I suggest we give Mike as much time as he needs to get his head around things ... and drop his prize temporarily.

So, I'll go get a list of prizes together, an sort things out.

It has awesome goose bumps giving melody too :)

I knew you will win this. Not everyone can write catchy melodies and its very important. Here many guys are about sound design etc but melody is the key afterall.

Excellent!

I had to Google to clarify what a ReFill actually was. :P Now, the way I understand it, I can only use ReFills in Reason, correct? I am trying to research without my glasses on - bad news ...

This player looks interesting. I like the look of the '3 at once' feature and the large instrument library that comes with it!

Wow, some nice banks here! If I were to choose, I'd go for Tassman 4 - Himalaya 'Electronic Toolkit' Sound Bank. On a side note, I really really loved the sound demos of Himalaya: Antiquity. So warm and x-factor'ish. But Antiquity is not solid directly via his website, right? (Also, I can't find information on how to play these, as they are referred to as just 'banks'.) Mind you I'm trying to do 3 things at once; it's likely the answer is looking at me right now.

I enjoyed the demos on his website. But I really fell in love with the "Key Performer". Even though I am a guitarist.

Ok, I pick the "Key Performer"!

Anyway thanks for the compo - it was fun! I love an excuse to go retro and not feel guilty, hehe ;)

I actually started a track for OSC18, but I got snagged with another project. I unfortunately had to prioritise and forfeit my OSC18 entry - but this is what I had done so far:

I will get around to voting (and more importantly, commenting) for OSC18 maybe over the weekend.

Regards,
Mick :)
