xybre wrote:It's an extension of language, not the bastardization of it (Well okay, sometimes it is :hihi:).

"THIS" is kind of a shorthand for "This is just the thing I wanted/was thinking!" But that is wordy and not as emphatic. It's not too different from when you can't think of a word, then suddenly someone else says it and you exclaim "Yeah, that!", rather than "Yes, 'onomatopoeia' was the word I was looking for." It conveys an additional excitement that the full phrase may lack.

Surely the conversion of a phrase into a single word is the reduction of language, not the extension of it? Taking an existing word and attempting to apply new meaning to it is reducing our vocabulary.
Newspeak is a fictional language in George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. In the novel by Orwell, it is described as being "the only language in the world whose vocabulary gets smaller every year". Newspeak is closely based on English but has a greatly reduced and simplified vocabulary and grammar. This suits the totalitarian regime of the Party, whose aim is to make any alternative thinking — "thoughtcrime", or "crimethink" in the newest edition of Newspeak — impossible by removing any words or possible constructs which describe the ideas of freedom, rebellion and so on.
So...just watch out!

The response in internet slang would be "no u" or "tl;dr". :hihi:
o'rly?

But back on topic, noisemaker is still nice for being free though :)

Silly things do cease to be silly if they are done by sensible people in an impudent way

But if their only purpose is being impudent, they're likely to do just silly things.

Coil wrote:Hm, 64 bit version can't be found in logic 9 (32bit) and they are both named the same way. so how can i get the 32 and the 64 bit version to work with logic ?
Try this, please... It worked at my place...

Download booth version and rename the 64bit for example into "TAL-Noizemaker-x64.component" for example,
Open Logic in 32 and 64 bit and it will start to re-scan all the PlugIns, now you have a 32 AND 64 bit Version in Logic 64 bit and in Logic 32 bit, you have only the 32bit Version. That's it...
Olikana wrote:2. xenox-correct me if i'm wrong- u did NOT make this synth together with Patrick as u claimed. it was all patrick's concept ,work and coding. you did some presets and did some beta testing(missing out even portamento lol).
You should stop spreading things you didn't know. The last beta testing and the whole sounds were made in a version below 1.0x from Patrick and me, he found some more bugs and correct them and made this Portamento bug. After the release, he found this bug (and i wasn't at home for 2 days).
Ideas for Noizemaker
As someone asked here, ofcourse i hade loootsa ideas to make this synth much better as the other TAL Synthies, but, there were several reasons for Patrick, i can understand and won't spread, not to do them all.

I think Patrick's work is brilliant and the synth is for free and that counts..

If you like his work... doXXte... :band2:  $

Works fine here with Logic on MacBook Pro running 10.4.11. Possibly NoiseMaker is Intel only?

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

I haven't tried it yet, but isn't it supposed to be a "VA" (very average) synth???

:?

I have much better synths in my vst folder, and a couple of free ones at that.
I gave Noisemaker a thorough trial but have since deleted it. It feels a bit soul-less, almost like it's a rush release, and in the race to get to the starting line a whole bunch of character got left behind.
Maybe after a couple of revisions?

Too many plugs out here to try to get hooked on reputation over substance.

4 or 5 /10
