Personally I'm lucky enough to be grateful that someone has made a "quality sounding :!: " VST plug-in & given it for free without a clause.

Thanks Again goes out to Tal and whomever contributed any efforts in this new free-ware Synthesiser.

It's just sweet that because of the kind efforts of some, anyone with the right resource's ( computer etc) and education can choose to make music freely and maybe share that music freely , thus adding to our, everyone's wealth as a whole.Because it's a quality VSTi and free it is a Definite + for the common Good. All can play, use and learn from it thus all can share in their common experience.

Not so sweet of course if that access to free 'stuff' may mean you don't sell the same amount of your pay to use 'stuff' :x .
But even so, you also have access to this free 'stuff'. so maybe you don't need to make as much money from your not so free 'stuff', because you don't have to spend as much money buying other peoples not so free 'stuff',

Thus the Balance is restored and music simply gets played just for the fun of it :D

Sound is not just Subjective my Good chap.

In fact We are all hearing a different Tal Noisemaker.

Combinations of hardware, shape of our ears and a myriad of other physical elements will all go into us all hearing our own unique Tal Noisemaker sound. Not only because we will have interpreted it differently, also it will be actually delivered to our ears differently in some way or another.

Add to this the experience of likes and dislikes of humans & it's amazing we ever agree about anything at all!

More than Subjective! Unique,different .

Personally I hear Tal Noisemaker has a a nice Vibe!

Enjoy ! if you do too

I've been playing around with noisemaker for a few days now and I'm loving it! Great sounding filter!
Would love to see an arp or a built in sequencer in a future update.

So because it is free we should always like it, is that what you are saying

I don't think we do any developer any service by hyping our perception of their product simply because it is free. If a developer is just a little bit serious about his/her work then they will be interested in how to make it even better. There's nothing to gain from false sentiments ;)

I'm not hating it (but I 'got' the smiley ;)). I think TAL synths are indeed very good sounding from a technical standpoint. They are just very uninspirational from a musical perspective to my opinion ( <- this last disclaimer seems to be needed nowadays, although it should be completely obvious in any online forum. Not aiming at you Grim, you're an OK guy :D).

like CW said, just cos its free, you dont have to like it

doesnt mean you should be rude about it, but you are entitled to make comments...as well as being entitled to not use it at all

its good that ppl feel they can spend time making things and give them for free, some ppl come up with interesting stuff, but being free doesnt make it good.

i dont expext to be heaped with praise for my stuff, i do it cos its fun to do, not cos i think they are amazing synths (i dont use them myself, never have)

there isnt 1 free synth i would use these days

I agree, I reckon that most devs would be interested in *constructive* criticism - ie 'this is what's good about 'x', this is what's not so good, this is how it could be better'.

But then there's all of the wholly negative criticism in this thread and others like it, which, besides being pointlessly offensive, add zero useful information to the conversation.

I really can't understand why some people feel the need to say 'this is just shit', or words to that effect, and do so over and over and over again (yes lateks, we heard you first time - have you got anything interesting or useful to say? )

I don't want to "hijack" this thread but maybe you will like TS Substance too :

http://tactilesounds.blogspot.com/p/ts-substance.html

It's very fresh, official KVR announcement will follow next week.

It's Donationware so if you like it you can send a donation to Jonathan from Tactile Sounds. There's a link for that on the page.

PS:
I tested NoiseMaker too and it's very nice but since i was "a bit" involved in testing and sound design for TS Substance i still prefer TS Substance at the moment.

I don't really mind free stuff being criticised (I have my share of free synths that don't do much for me), but I can't help sensing a certain brand of glee sometimes, as if people like bash free stuff for sport, the way you'd stamp on a child's sand castle.

As for a few new(?) kvr members, anyone with a track record of more than one hundred, mostly acerbic, posts in less than a month's membership is highly suspicious in my opinion.
