Alchemy Player is basically Alchemy, with the simple mode interface only.

This means it is not possible to edit presets directly, but you can affect the sound by adjusting the performance controls. The idea is that users who don't require the the full editing capability of Alchemy but want the sounds can purchase the sound libraries and still have access to the expressiveness / playability of the presets.

How the presets play is really up to the sound designers i.e. how the performance controls and remix pad are set up to affect the sound.

Alchemy Player has a demo version of Alchemy built in, or you could simply download the demo from our site and try it out in "Simple" mode to compare the differences (there's a button on the GUI). Demo here:

Thanks for the info. So the Alchemy Player is the one for me since I am more of a preset user.

Yes, that is the general idea, although it depends on what kind of tweaking you like to do e.g. with the full version of Alchemy you can modify the waveforms, all modulate sources, or replace the samples used by a preset for new sounds.

kore player -> free kore

alchemy player is like kore player, but, correct me if i'm wrong, kore player got better sounds...

That's probably a matter of taste. I have Kore and never really use it. I was really impressed with the Alchemy demo.

Are the Alchemy presets available as seperate libraries so I can use them with the player or are they exclusively for Alchemy?

Yes, all of the banks are available separately and work with Alchemy Player. The only presets not available to Player are the additional 450 Factory presets included with the full version.

I'm curious...I have the full version of alchemy, and can I install the Alchemy Player as well?

Also, if I create a preset in Alchemy, can I play it back in Player, or does Player only play back the soundsets available from Camel?

You don't need the Alchemy Player if you have the full version. Player cannot play user presets made in full version of Alchemy, only soundbanks.

There is no CPU advantage to using Alchemy Player - it's just the interface that changes ... which you can do by setting Alchemy to "Simple" mode (you can make this the default interface using the File menu).

Alchemy Player will only play sound libraries released by Camel Audio, and not third-party or custom presets.
