any suggestions for a 2 in 2 out usb audio interface for new laptop. I would prefer one with a hi z input for guitaring around. But all I really need is 2 balanced ins, 2 balanced outs and a headphone out. I am mostly concerned with well written drivers more so than any other features/ bundled software. I am kind of tempted to buy steinberg's ci2+ just because it looks fancy and has some control surface features but I would be just as happy with a tin box with with all the plugs and well written drivers.
I have a lenovo ideapad with an i7 720qm and 8 gigs of ram running windows 7 64 bit.
any suggestions are appreciated.
2 in2 out usb interface for around 200 USD

Edirol UA-25EX

I haven't used this one but used the UA-5, UA-25, and am currently on a UA-1000 and I've never had a problem with any of them. Has everything you need, Hi-Z input, MIDI in and out, and the EX has added an analog limiter/compressor which can be mighty handy, and is USB bus powered so you can even do field recording if you want. You can expect a very low latency as well. (5 ms or even less.)
Not sure of the price, might be a bit more than $200 USD but probably not much.
