Back OT - anyone know how to save a new patch name when saving a patch? If I save as .fxp with a new name, though the .fxp in the folder has the new name, when viewed in Live's VST preset browser it shows the name of the original patch. :?

Maybe spoilt-brat syndrome is nearing its golden age! :hihi:
like CW said, just cos its free, you dont have to like it

doesnt mean you should be rude about it, but you are entitled to make comments...as well as being entitled to not use it at all

its good that ppl feel they can spend time making things and give them for free, some ppl come up with interesting stuff, but being free doesnt make it good.

i dont expext to be heaped with praise for my stuff, i do it cos its fun to do, not cos i think they are amazing synths (i dont use them myself, never have)

there isnt 1 free synth i would use these days
i do this on the weekends when i have some time, it's one of the few remaining guilty pleasures i have away from the family unit; check out what's new, try the freebies, if they are good make a comment or two to help the developers or just say thanks. i wasn't referring to you btw, krim. your post was the usual kriminal variety 1 liner opinion without any emotion attached from what i could interpret (and this is also not a shot but i know you and this is your regular behavior). so not you i'm pointing at here.

to your last point, i think it's fair to say that if i could un-buy all my commercial stuff i would not, but i definitely would forsake a few and could definitely see myself filling that hole with something like this TAL synth.

opinions are free and only cost some time to share, and i too wont be using it regularly but i do keep these kinds of notable synths/effects bookmarked for others who i meet that ARE new and do not own commercial plug-ins that do the same things already.

i felt that it was also worth noting an observation of the same reality check type of nature that you contributed; that people are reacting quite negatively about this mans generous efforts and his work.

if there was one thing i would change about the kvr experience it would be that ungrateful sense of entitlement that some have, even about free stuff without any kind of strings attached.

back to the topic at hand and to equal out some things and to prove that i'm not just a TAL fanboy sticking up for, i did notice a few voicing issues with noizemaker; it seemed that with longer release times some notes were completely being lost, which i expected based on the polyphony cap, but i kind of just expected the algo to know i wanted SOME notes there, sacrificing the oldest ones to the mighty polyphonous rexicus the monster that eats the notes that no one loves anymore.

another FR:
i'm really missing the possibility to modulate all oscillators together osc1+osc2+osc3sub to ENV and LFO like in Elek7ro.

Downloaded both AU and VSTi mac. Live only recognizes AU. Wish to have VST as AU dont have presets.

click and drag (a lot) or click+ mousewheel.....should be just click imo.

I really like the GUI here. Those silver dials on that dark grey background are spot on! Very good job. It's the kind of design I really like as it makes me want to stare at it and create sounds.

I hope the dev will not mind if I post some comments. :-)

One strange thing I noticed is, the way the pitch/mod wheels are dealt with. The pitch wheel can do filter sweeps, but there is no mod wheel, therefore it is not used in any of the presets.

Midi learn helps a bit here, but it needs a 'range' parameter. Without a 'range' parameter, the filter will be reset to zero each time it is used on spring loaded mod sticks. A range/scale is available on the pitch wheel, so I think, instead of having to rely on midi learn, it would be great to have the mod wheel assignments on the GUI, like the pitch wheel. And I will only whisper: aftertouch! :D

I'm loving the Funky Lead preset and the Soft Bell Lead preset, this one is just too gorgeous. Very vintage. But I wish I could control the filter cut off (in addition to the present pitch bend) in a more controllable manner ( not via midi learn which does not have the 'range' option).

BTW, there seems to be some confusion with polyphony settings. Some keyboard and pad sounds are set to mono.

Cool little synth. 8)

Rofl to people say elek7ro is average.
From my electro house point of view it totally kills a lot of my payware synths.

Downloading noisemaker atm. Thanks for this TAL (you are my favorite freeware developer and i will donate soon) and Xenox.AFL for the presets.
Wtb inspiration!

+1 I don't have any payware, but from my vintage/70's cosmic point of view it is fantastic, too :)
