A channel strip would indeed be awesome. Right now all of the channel strips available either suck or use iLok...futurefields wrote:Channel Strip
-input stage with option for clean or analog modeled saturation
-gate
-HPF/LPF with smooth or sharp curves
-4 band parametric eq
-channel compressor with auto/manual attack and release, selectable ratios
-switchable gate-eq-comp routing
-output stage with option for clean or analog modeled saturation
-optional soft/hard clipping @ output stage
would complement the glue well IMO
then maybe a combination delay/reverb unit, or chorus/flange that excels at artificial double tracking.

...or are on sale: http://www.teamdnr.net/mixcontrol.php.
Being a recent buyer of said channel strip, I'm very much in favor of the emulations of the high end stuff (Crane Song, Shadow Hills etc.)

I really hope Andy is watching this thread.
I mean, he has created a monster with The Glue.
He has demonstrated that compressors can be done REALLY WELL ITB.
Now, why would you want the best compressor emulator designer to be designing a modulation plugin?
WHY OH GOD WHYYY

hımmm...console emulation? would make sense since you already got the compressor rightandy_cytomic wrote: LOL! Thanks for the kudosI want to alternate the plugins, one compressor / eq, one something else otherwise I'll go crazy - so don't worry another compressor won't be too far off!

Personally, the last thing I'm waiting for is the VCC from Slate, but if Andrew decided to his own product that's the one I'd use.

There's also the Nebula route, which is still affordable but I understand if cpu-ram is an issue...
Console emulation is the future, it would make sense even if there are few competitors.

I'm very impressed by 'The Glue' how good it is also on full mixes to preserve the original sound-character by dialing Range knob between -10..-20dB.
I also don't know exactly what this Range knob technically does.
Although I don't care it would be nice to understand it completely.
Does it just limit the maximum amount of compression by the given amount or is there more under the hood ?
Nonetheless: Good work, Cytomic, you have my money !
