Hi,
Have not tried 1.4....but the earlier version works great on both Receptor 1 and Receptor 2. I don't think 1.4 is a MAJOR revision -I do have it on my laptop, and it adds 1 new Leslie and some sustain pedal options. I am planning on trying it on Receptor within the next week or 2. WIll post here at that point.

I have VB3 1.4 running on my Receptor 2 Pro. I like it a lot. Especially for the money (there is even some summer discount now).
I have used VB3 with pedal since the first versions (midi learn). But only for rotary speed (not damping). But hey... real organ players don't use damping...
BTW: you can download and install the trial version to see if it works on your receptor. It has a noise sound every 10s or so. When you buy it, you'll receive a registration key.
Have fun,
Fedde

I'm using the Plugorama version (1.2) and that has been stable on my Receptor 2 OS 1.8. I had previously tried to update to the prior version of VB3 (1.3x?)and while it seemed to work, it did crash my Receptor too often to trust playing live. Fedde - did you install VB3 1.4 using the unsupported plugs method, or simply place the .dll folder on the Receptor hard drive (in the proper folder)? I'd like to upgrade but want to make sure it's stable. I wish Muse would provide an installer (Update Pianoteq as well).

I have the 1.2 version that shipped (I believe) with my Receptor; however, while it sounds awesome, I can't use it due to a loud 3 second 'hiss' that comes up, approximately every 10 to 15 seconds.
Has anyone else experienced this, and might there be a solution?

JV - The hiss is from being in demo mode. You need to purchase and register VB3 - it's very reasonably priced. They will provide a code that will unlock it from demo mode - hiss be gone.

The unregistered version of VB3 has that "hiss" built in so you can try it out before you buy it. To get rid of it, you need to buy the full version and put in a serial code. My opinion, VB3 is worth every penny, and its currently on sale!JayVee wrote:I have the 1.2 version that shipped (I believe) with my Receptor; however, while it sounds awesome, I can't use it due to a loud 3 second 'hiss' that comes up, approximately every 10 to 15 seconds.

Ditto for me.PhilAiken wrote:That is my concern as well.....the version on my Receptor is rock solid - afraid to mess with it since I am actually using it again.....
I have to believe the latest version is not significantly different from the earlier ones with respect to Muse's ability to provide installation support. In other words, how hard can it be to keep an installation method up to date?
VB3 is the type of high quality, high value, useful instrument that seems to be a fantastic fit for what the Receptor is all about, and Muse should keep on top of. Their recent Plugorama update shows signs of movement within Muse Research, and hopefully this is an indication of improved installation support forthcoming. (Fingers crossed...)

Hi all,
I replaced the DLL from v1.2 to v1.4. I think that VB3 did not crash my receptor yet. Tom: when do you experience crashes?
BTW: try also Mr Ray 73 mk II (Rhodes), it is very good too! Mr Tramp (Wurlitzer) and ZD6 (Clavinet) are also nice but not in the same league as VB3/Mr Ray IMHO. Finally, Milestone (Trumpet) is very fun to play with, but it might cause problems on dual core machines (it seems to work on my Receptor 2 Pro, but I did not test it for a long time).
Indeed, those small plugins are well suitable for a Receptor. I like the fast loading time and low memory usage of these plugins (no big samples). Sample sets (e.g. Scarbee) sometimes have some more details, but these modeling synths have a very nice response to the way you play.
Best regards,
Fedde

It's been awhile since I tried it, but if I recall it crashed in a snap-shot multi that I have 3 instantiations of VB3 (for quickly changing presets). It would crash changing from one to the next (not always though). Or it may have crashed in attempting to edit VB3. I just remember replacing the DLL two or three times, but never getting the stability. It always seemed to allow me to register it correctly and loaded initially. I just couldn't chance losing my Multi in a live situation - even briefly. I did call Muse (long ago) but they just said that 1.2 was the only one they currently supported.
I've used Mr Ray but prefer the Scarbee stuff - though Mr Ray is very good as well and you point out the non-sample advantages. Anyway thanks for the response. Maybe I'll try again, or just wait and see if Muse catches up. I agree with the post above that stuff like VB3 is the kind of VSTi that Muse needs to keep on top of. It's very useful.

I have been using VB3 v1.3 at gigs for a while now. It worked fine via the unsupported install method with the exception of an occasional audio clip (a rare pop maybe from a cpu spike?). I just tried the v1.4 update - works just the same as v1.3 far as I can tell. The new rotary sim is interesting but since it has to be set globally I won't use it

I have the same problem with the split settings. I really like the feature to have two manuals on one keyboard, but they can not be saved in a preset. But according to Guido, this will be changed in the upcoming version 2.0. I hope that this version will be a free upgrade, actually I don't know...

I have successfully loaded VB3 v1.4 onto my Receptor 2 v1.8. I first uninstalled and deleted all of the 1.2 files that came loaded on my Receptor (demo version) and installed 1.4 using the unsupported plug-in method. Everything seems to be working fine except that the Presets don't show up as patches. All of the patches in the factory bank are the 1st preset (VB3 1.4). So, the only way to change presets is on the edit screen of the computer. I can't change them using the patches on Receptor. Is there a fix for this? Is this a GSi issue or Muse issue.
