Love the synth; it offers some huge and interesting sounds. However it is crashing in Reaper, is anyone else having this problem?

Weirdness in Reaper, both in linux and windows. In linux, the reaper
plugin selector hangs, but Avatar loads invisibly
and I can play the first preset. Discovered this when I heard it by
mistake, sneakily playing behind another synth, in a test to verify crashes.

In windows, the first times I loaded it, the reaper virtual midi keyboard,
and my midi controller failed to make a peep with Avatar, but its own virtual
keyboard worked. On the third session, I loaded Avatar after loading Alien Space Weaver, and AM Freehand, and then all keyboards responded.

I can say I found both the last two versions of linux wine, and Reaper less stable
together, so regressed to stable combos, til the dust settles a bit.

I'm guessing the beautiful GUIs in Avatar are like a beautiful woman,
sometimes more fun to observe them from a safe distance, than to work with them at a deadline

It would be hard for Indie film-makers to pass this by, and those wanting startling intros, thematic hooks, and as you say, complex soundscapes, will want 30 hour days
as they catch on to the possibilities

I have been playing around with VST i's for awhile now. I would like to know. What is the purpose of having a keyboard on the screen with in the VST i. I am not complaining or saying it needs to be removed. I just have seen the keyboard on other VST i's and I do not know the reason for it.
