Sorry again, I've just seen your thread in the "hosts" forum. I understand your point now.

thought i'd post this here instead of an email or pm, it's not essential stuff, just a couple of bugs.

Bridged Image Line Poizone + Toxic Biohazzard + Harmless , and when loading in 64bit Cubase 5.5.1 the GUI's are all messed up although there is still output, apart from Toxic where Auxhost64 crashes.

I'm still bridging and testing, so will report back if I hit any other bugs :)

Thanks :)

This is Solved, just needed some folders moving around for some reason...

I thought, I'd try it here, since I got no reply from the support adress:

When using Liquid Mix in Sonar 64bit @ Windows 7 64bit via jBridge, the plugin thinks it is in 44.1kHz-mode upon reloading, even though everything's running at 48kHz, and therefore does not work properly. (inserting from scratch works fine, the bug only occurs at reloading a project)

btw, same happens with Cakewalk's own "bitbridge". 32bit works fine.

Is there anything I can do (except for abandoning 48kHz or Liquid Mix or 64bit)?
Thanks !! :)

Hello.

I always reply my emails, but for some strange reason, your email went into my spam folder ( just checked it after reading this ).

I'll have a look at that. Thanks for the info. :wink:

Oh, right. Good to know. Maybe I shouldn't have used the term *penis* in my request ... :lol: (just kidding :D). Yeah, the very same happened to me the other way round just yesterday.

Glad, you got the time to look into it! :) Thanks very much!

Is there a list of plugins which work without problems with jBridge and which option settings to use?

I've found lately that the "performance" option in jBridge really significantly reduces audio load in my host Cantabile. At this point I consider buying a jBridge license but I would appreciate some more info...

Hi.

Feel free to email me with whatever you need to ask. :wink:

Maybe one question of general interest first:

NI Kontakt player 4.1 crashed jBridge. Prior I got a message that jBridge does not support 64 audio channels. Will you change jBridge to make it work with Kontakt 4.1 player? ...i.e. supporting more audio channels?

Keep in mind that I am currently most interested in jBridge using to isolate plugins rather than really bridging as I have observed significant lower audiocycle consumption in Cantabile, my primary vst host. Additional crash protection is another interesting point with bridging/isolating plugins.

Currently I am checking out some plugins from Image Line. I've bought Voxodex lately. When I have multiple overlapping vst windows open there are issues with redraw. I have seen several options trying to address this but if there is any combination that works I have not found it... hence again, a list of which options work best with which plugins would be really helpful.

Another issue is when using "performance" option with Sonic Projects OP-X or OP-X pro. After some time audio starts to stutter making scary noise which disappears again after longer time. Again a list where plugins incompatible with performance option would be helpful.

Don't misunderstand my post. You've done a magnificent job with jBridge but some things look still like experimenting even you've released it as 1.x version. Also note that I put only time and effort in pushing things I can see are worth to become even better.

Another maybe not jBridge related topic is that I would like to have a list where I can specify plugins to be loaded always bridged (isolared) and other options before the host really loads them. Maybe that's a question better sent to TopTen or discussed with any developers providing internal jBridge support... but maybe that's also and idea to provide a kind of lif of best options settings known for jBridge with as many plugins as possible.

Hope you don't mind your offer to feel free to send anything on the topic now... :hihi:

I really wish an update that supports 64 channels plugins!. Meanwhile, doesn't the K4 player come with 8 and 16 channels versions?. The full Kontakt 4 does.

Thanks for this hint. You are right - that's a workaround!

Hi,guys. :)

@TiUser:

That is correct, the current version supports a maximum of 32 outputs. This is due to memory constrains.

I've done a lot of experimenting on this, and from my results, supporting inputs/outputs in a dynamic way affects stability for the worse with the current implementation, so I had to make a choice. :(

However, I can customize ( by request ) a user's full version to be built with 64 output support, at the expense of a few Mb's of RAM per bridged plugin ( around 10-12Mb ). So let me me know if you don't mind that and I'll set yours to support 64 outputs.

Regarding the sound crackling issues, this has worked for some users ( I am going to add it to the troubleshooting section ):

Edit your .jBridge configuration file with Notepad, which is inside your real plugin's folder ( jBridge creates it there, for example Kontakt4.dll will have Kontakt4.jBridge there ), then search for the line

AUXHOST_PRIORITY 0

Try changing it to

AUXHOST_PRIORITY 4

Regarding the re-draw problems, what options have you tried so far? Does it also happen with the separated GUI mode?

Regarding having plugins that are always bridged, even if they have the same architecture than the host, although it can't currently be done by default in Cantabile ( afaik ), this can be done in your Cantabile session by right-clicking the plugin and choosing the option "run isolated".

Just one quick comment on this:

The problem may be in Cantabile and I am exactly about a per plugin default for bridging...

With the Cantabile sessions it's not quite that easy. Cantabile has a plugin reuse mechanism for the next session and if an already loaded plugin is not bridged it will be reused not bridged even if it is set bridged somwhere in a rackslot of the new session... that may be considered as a bug but on the other hand how to handle it better without losing speed again?

Only reasonable way I see is using the bridge setting per plugin and not using the per rackslot setting... to reduce cumbersome situations.

Just my opinion.

Concerning OP-X. It's not usual crackles. It works for some time "normal". Then it's like a wired buzzing sound for some time. It's not easy to describe as the phases may be minutes... ouch! I try to find out more but OP-X is somewhat sensitive...

I have also noticed a weird bug with Sampletank 2.5 where some presets get a unstoppable sustain until i hit the panic button in Orion 7.62 64bit.

Hello.

@TiUser:
I think that the current behavior in Cantabile is intentional, but it would be best to refer this to Brad ( Cantabile's developer ), he may be able to help.

The auxhost process priority change I mentioned in my earlier post didn't work for OP-X?

@D-Fusion:

Does it only happen with SampleTank? Does it happen in other hosts when bridged?

I've checked setting AUXHOST_PRIORITY 4 for OP-X

The effect still occurs but the "buzzing" phase is shorter and thing recover faster. However it still does not work flawless. Can I increase priority further? :roll:

[Edit] Think I'll try the "thread save option" now too. I remember OP-X is a bit bitchy in some regards, and one is multiprocessing... :hihi:
