My vote for a good stack of quality effects comes from Kjaerhus Audio. It's comprehensive line of 'CLASSIC' effects works well for me. They have a nice, intuitive layout with a smart looking GUI. To be honest, I have not tried a slew of effects from different companies. I haven't felt the need. I am quite satisfied with the variety of offerings and their results. And, they are free!
