are VBR ogg files okay?

Kristal only encodes to VBR

what if the average bitrate is 128 (or lower) but varies to larger rates periodically?

edit: well hope its okay because I just submitted my entry

i guess thats ok if the file size is the same as one encoded to strictly 128kbps

I started off with 4 songs for this month. Two of them made it to the mixing stage. I chose Secrets of Johanna for the competition. Hope you like it. Hope I chose the right one.

It's all about the city of Johannesburg. Empty and lonely at night. Dark and misterious, with a secret night life.

The other one Short love long lost may have a better melody line, but less feeling and punch. Actually, both are about the same subject, i.e. the city of Jo'burg. Well, then I do not sing, so what does it matter what it is all about. Just make up your own story to go with it.

I have to translate OGG to mp3 to be able to listen to ogg tracks with my mp3 usbkey !

I'm not sure the OGG idea is great
